Shreddit loads all the GIFs at the same time, so your internet connection will be completely saturated by just visiting such a subreddit (meaning, if you are playing YouTube Music as an example, it will begin buffering until the GIFs (1.08GB in this case) all load). Also, the gifs will be laggy or even freeze because it can't load fast. You can see how some gifs took up to 15 minutes to load in the image. And it isn't due to my connection. The mp4s won't buffer like that

Ignore that I had to visit an NSFW subreddit to show this off, because no other subreddit seemed to have this many gallery posts with video clips

notably, it only works while logged out on old reddit. simply logging into a different account will not work. any ideas how this works?

and if youre working how i accessed old reddit while logged out, i have no idea.

i opened my browser randomly, and noticed i was logged out, despite having not logged out myself. but somehow, i was still on old reddit on www.reddit.com with no loginwall. perhaps it had to do with the cookie that forces old reddit?

an additional weird thing: even after manually logging back in, going to sh.reddit.com auto redirected to www.reddit.com, despite this normally only happening in you are logged out. this issue with sh.reddit.com was fixed after clearing my browser cache. but still a really weird situation overall

and sidenote: im typing this from app version 2025.31.0, and my goodness is it nice to have regular markdown back again after running a modern app version for a while

/s

just was screwing around with experiment config in an older version and found this amusing. also, the "learn more" leads to a broken link (https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/34720093903764)

whenever I click on anything in old reddit it just takes me back to shreddit

Fortunately I was logged in and it was dismissable

as of now, r/all is still fully accessible and functional in older app versions. however im sure this won't be the case forever. when do yall think they will eventually completely break r/all, and what may be the cause of it ceasing to work anymore in older app versions??

Don't even know how this could happen...

I can't with this stupid app anymore I don't need a closer button to post on a subreddit I'm not lazy Reddit

Shame on you, old reddit. I guess you are dying.

makes sense for mod queue but not r/mod

also why has r/mod not been ported to shreddit yet (and not available on the app)?

On desktop it will show the old Reddit one, but if you open it via Mobile it will show a super hidden menu.
