Just sharing 🕷️ Found this Beautiful Garden spider today
She didn’t have a web and it’s getting pretty cold here, I’m gonna take her home and see if she’ll lay eggs since she looks gravid. Hopefully I can save her spiderlings.

She might have already wrapped her babies up somewhere and be in her golden days. I think it’s super sweet of you to bring her to the warm to fade comfortably though.

what do you mean by "take her home"? where are you gonna release her?

I’m going to take her to my house and set up an enclosure for her and hopefully she’ll lay her eggs in it. She was curled up when I found her with no web, I’m guessing from the cold.

No I think I’ll give her a safe space at my home, I’m not inexperienced with this species or spiders as a whole. And with the invasive Joro spiders I’ve seen a decline of garden spiders in my area, I’m going to do what I can to help the species.

Humans are a part of nature too. And this human is stepping in to give this spider an easier and more comfortable ending to her life. Or comfortable time being. Whatever happens.

They are so gentle, it amazed me the first time I got to pick up one of these large girls.
