Hello spikes!

This is the place where any and all decks can be posted for all spikes to see. The goal of this is to fit all your needs for competitive magic. Maybe it's a card consideration given an X dollar budget. Maybe you need that sweet sideboard tech that no one else thought of? Perhaps you just can't figure out the best card to beat a certain matchup. The ideas here are only limited by your imagination!

Feel free to discuss most anything here. We only ask that with any question, you also make sure to post your decklist so people have some context to answer your question. Otherwise, have at it! If you have any questions, shoot us a modmail and we'll be happy to help you out. Survive your deck check and survive your competition!

Hello everybody prepping for pioneer season

Play sewerbloom (4c gearhulk combo, the now banned standard list), I need people smarter than me to test and convert it to a pioneer list

I'm so sure this deck is turbo broken, because half of my losses are to me screwing up combo lines, and my wins are disgusting

Main changes im already trying:

Meticulous excavation enables alternate infinite lines and infinite mana once you have a cam and a tender tapping for 3

This town ain't big enough is a defensive all star that gives you tons of lines and the flexibility to choose your bounces at instant speed. Saving two of your things from a board wipe, or bouncing a talent and threat from the opponent, bouncing cams to go positive on mana, bouncing cryogen relics to draw cards while doing it, just absolutely insane stuff this card enables

Retraction helix is an interesting card that enables infinite mana from a two tapper (but only infinite mana that isn't blue). If you, for instance, helix your cub, tap a UW land (earthbent) for UG, then tap cub to bounce a cam, this will untap your land, allowing you to replay the cam and untap the cub, leaving G in your mana pool. This is mainly for quickly setting up the rhythm a gearhulk, get the final pixie, harmonize rhythm for the JBM and combo finish line, and I think the deck is already so tight that this isn't a great include. Still doing some testing to see how it feels.

Actually, I take it back. Don't play this deck. I don't want it getting banned.

I'm on my own personal brew of Slumbering Trudge + Glamdring Combo in standard.

In standard I'm really struggling to rack up wins with this JundSac list.

I'm not really sure what the issue is tbh. Maybe I need to adjust my manabase?

Struggling with things like Elfball, and WG rabbits, and sometimes it feels like I can't get the engine started at all. Looking for any advice on the list.

No [[Umbral Collar Zealot]] its the first that jumps out. It has the advantage of the sac being free. Its basically the main free enabler to get sac triggers on demand without spending mana.

[[beseech the mirror]] and [[goldvein hydra]] and [[obsessive pursuit]] have been champs in the version I have been using. Don’t be afraid to make a hydra for 1 or 2 esp if you can sac it on your next turn.

Trying to figure out what a standard WBg lifegain list might look like once FRA releases. I'd appreciate any advice y'all have even if it's not related to the points below. Decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/7yEgysV_1UmRhCQ0bXoNgA

[[Liliana the Faultless]] looks great, the deck's excellent card draw + [[Moseo, Vein's New Dean]] and [[Case of the Uneaten Feast]] means a very low opportunity cost for repeatable protection. So far it's the only card that was an easy add (-1 Aunt May, -1 Hinterland Sanctifier, +2 Liliana the Faultless).

I'm also trying to figure out if it's worth adding [[Way of the Mentor]], and if so what I should cut. I run 3-4 [[Professor Dellian Fel]], and Way of the Mentor could help stick an emblem right away if he drops on turn 5+. It'd also help him resist damage-based removal and maybe land consecutive -3s? The Jace token would be a nice bonus. Also unsure if [[Ajani Resolute]] fits. Pridemate tokens would be awesome, but the more noncreature spells I have, the weaker Moseo & Case get. Ditto for [[Germinate Recruits]]. [[Kwia Vigorbloom]] looks great but this deck doesn't really need ramp and thrives on keeping the creature curve low. [[Enlightened Confidant]] seems amazing but IDK what to cut.

I am working on a Jeskai PW Friends deck. The list is here:

https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/7976009#paper

The gameplan is gaining resources with [[Chandra, Chill of Compliance]], [[Chandra, Torch of Defiance]] and [[The Theorist, Jace Beleren]] and back up with removals and board sweepers. Then close the game with [[Elspeth, Storm Slayer]] or [[Ajani Unrelenting]].

The lands and sideboards are still WIP. After few dry running, 24 lands feel like the right number thanks for ramping from both Chandra and the [[Way of the Pyromancer]].

The below cards are on the watchlist:

[[Astelli Reclaimer]]: Sideboard card against Control. Usually 1-for-2+ depends on which card to reanimate.

[[Ral, Crackling Wit]]: Another Jeskai friend.

[[Gideon's Memorial]]: Ramping, removal for early game and power boosting for closing the game. It has every things the deck wants.

[[Solitary Cell]]: Permanent removal. And more importantly, it solves the duplicating legendary issue of the deck.

I’m very curious about this! Azorius Tempo player here…but struggling as the meta shifts more to control. My core prison (high noon) deck doesn’t work as well against control. Maybe this aggro shift will compete better?!

Commune combo: checkout the midfield link for the primer.

My take on mono black bloodthirst “combo”

Performing well in Bo3. Not super familiar with meta in standard but I feel like I’m cooking.

I have a rough draft of this splintertwin-esque combo for standard (Way of the Cryomancer + Beseech the Mirror) and my heart is telling me that maybe the combo/control shell isn't the best and I should just slip it into the sideboard as an alternative win-con in an aggro deck or something. I think a big problem is I dislike all the black sweepers, but maybe I should just play it as esper instead of dimir and run white for sweepers that are effective. I just feel like there is something here, maybe even just the initial synergy of Way of the Cryomancer + Beseech. I have had a overall positive record, it feels powerful, but also the meta really hasn't settled and I've only run into a handful of competitive feeling decks to really vibe that out.

Looking for essentially any constructive criticism. Sideboard? 2 vs 3 color? Is this just jank?

Last adds were the Gambit / offering alternative line, because it was vulnerable to getting the otters surgical'd, and the Theorix Charms (I haven't found a good spot to cast these since adding them, so they'll probably get removed soon)
