Question❓ Should I also prepare for ssc along with railway exams?

• Upvotes

So I have been preparing for railway exams for almost a year and going to give my second ntpc ug attempt 2026. Par jaise ki is saal vacancy pechle saal ke comparison kaafi Kam aayi hain, to main soch rha hu kya mujhe apni preparation ko diversify karna chahiye. Abhi main undergraduate hun, college 2nd year. To kya NTPC ke saath mujhe ssc ke bhi aur exams Dene chahiye jaise MTS, CHSL, selection post aur CGL ke liye abhi se preparation karna chahiye taaki graduation ke baad de sakun?

Kyunki kabhi kabhi 1-2 number ke chakkar mein selection nahi hota, Luck nahi kaam karta ya questions hard aa jaate hain ya phir kuch aur ho jaata hain. To aise mein backup exams Dene mein shayad benefit ho ki agar ntpc mein naa hua to shayad ssc mein ho jaayen

Par phir main dekh rha hun ki railway aur ssc ke exam pattern mein difference bhi hain. Jaise ssc mein static accha poochta hain to railway mein general science. To kahi aisa naa ho ki done ki preparation karne ke chakkar mein main kahin ka naa rahun?

Kya karna chahiye guys? How are you guys doing preparation for both the railway and ssc exams together?

On a side note: SSC mein english poochi jaati hain to meri english bhi theek-thaak hain. Matlab main english medium CBSE school se hi hun to English 12th level tak to hain

Selected Hi guys sharing my experience of working as ASO in css.

I've seen so many posts blatantly fear mongering about the workload in css. I've been working here for almost three years and in three different sections. and I feel I made the right choice. Here are the pros and cons that I've observed:

Pros: 1. Work life balance: This is probably the biggest advantage for me. I've worked in three sections and in 3 years of my working, I never had to stay beyond 6 PM. Not denying the fact that you'll have a good amount of work to do but the idea that you'll routinely be working 10 hours a day isn't true. All my batchmates who i know are happy with the amount of works they do. Even if you get a bad section, you can request the admin wing for a change. Most of the time they accept it.

  1. Stability:This is probably the biggest thing you get with this job. If you're someone who values a stable government job predictable working hour and a settled lifestyle with no transfer, CSS offers that. U do have to be prepared to stay in Delhi for most of your career though.

  2. Outstation opportunities: While Delhi is the primary posting location, there are outstation postings in different cities as well. If you're lucky, you might get opportunities andr get posted outside Delhi.

  3. Oh and the most interesting part, I've got so many opportunities to visit different parts of the country on official visit. I've been to northeast, port blair, kerala, gujrat kashmir etc. So it's not as monotonous as people may make it sound. You just have to have good interpersonal skills..

Cons: Pollution, relatively monotonous, and Delhi

PS1: Ik someone will comment that don't romanticise a clerical job. Yes the job is clerical in nature but routine administrative work is part of every organisation. Even Group A officers working in ministries spend most of the time dealing with files, notes, correspondence and other routine administrative work. And let's be honest, most of the people who prepared for cgl or preparing (including me) aren't very well off.For many people, getting a stable government job can genuinely be a life changing achievemnt. There's nothing wrong with valuing that.

PS2: For people who are struggling: be consistent, you'll get through it. Life after getting the job isn't some fairy tale. You'll still have your own problems, responsibilities and bad days. But having a stable job can take away a lot of the uncertainty that comes with constantly worrying about your future.

. The workload is a lil high in few sections but you are not forced to work for 10 hours a day. In my three years of experience, I've never had to stay beyond 6 pm even once. The most important thing you get is stability. You have to permanently stay here in delhi. There are outstation postings too in different cities and if you are lucky you might get a chance. I've been to so many places such as Goa, Port blair, kerala, gujrat etc. all on official duty. Undoubtedly there are cons: if you are posted in a difficult section, you'll have to work more. You might get a bad senior although that can be in any job. And obviously the pollution scene in delhi. But besides few downside I think this post is perfect for someone who wants stability and work life balance. You get enough time to pursue your passion and other extra curricular activities. You get to participate in different sports. Every job has a pro and cons. Grass always seems greener on the other side.

PS1: People will comment that don't fanticise a clerical job. The job is clerical in nature, infact any routine work which doesn't involve field visit is clerical. The IAS and other group A officers posted in different ministries on deputation also perform the same clerical work. Most of the peeps here aren't very well off. For them, this might be the life changing job they want.

PS2: For people who are struggling: be consistent, you'll get through it. Life on the other side isn't fairy tale but you won't have to worry about nugatory things. There are only few days left so I hope this post works as an impetus you needed. Happy to verify my credentials with mod. Whosoever moderator is, please dm

Study material📘 Found the Blackbook app by the same authors

If you prepare for SSC CGL or CHSL, you know the Blackbook. I recently found out the authors have an app with the same name. I started using it and found it really useful for my prep.

Full disclosure: this is my referral link. If you install from it, I get a free Pro subscription. You pay nothing extra. You can also just search "Blackbook" on the Play Store.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.qmaths.blackbook&referrer=ref%3DMZKYA4A%26src%3Dcopy

DISCLAIMER - This post was authored with the help of AI. Because if I'm using the blackbook app you can guess that my English is not so good.

Question❓ SSC CGL aspirants, how many mock test platforms do you actually use?

SSC CGL aspirants, how many mock test platforms do you actually use?

I'm curious about how people here manage their mock test practice.

Do you stick to one platform, or use multiples(like Adda247 Testprime, Testbook, Oliveboard) for full-length mocks, Maths sectionals and PYQs.

Would be interesting to hear from people who've tried different platforms. Please share your opinion.

Question❓ SSC CGL prep vs B2b Sales

Hey guys, i'm 26 currently in BPO industry as an executive role, but now I want to switch my career.

Salary is fixed and I think, I can't work in BPO industry, there is no motivation here.

So right now I'm thinking to focus on high paying skills or a government job, I gave SSC CGL 2024, but in tier 1, my marks were 141, UR, cutoff was 151 around. I left the preparation because of financial problem, joined BPO as I didn't have a fancy course.

Now I'm stuck and confused between SSC CGL preparation or B2b sales..both are different career.

Any suggestion, would be helpful for me to take a decision, because I have 9-10 hours shift in BPO.
