Foundry School is sus
So is Stanford’s new Foundry School an attempt to get the Department of Justice to go easy on the School of Medicine for DEI admissions violations?
Manufacturing is basically the least sexy field of study, and Stanford is all about sexy. There’s got to be a reason behind why Stanford is participating in this.

Silicon Valley money (including Stanford) is fickle AF. Just look at Zuckerberg, no moral center just reacts to the latest political winds

Least sexy is a matter of opinion. At such an engineering-heavy school, I’d wager the majority finds manufacturing to be sexier than law or business, and we have graduate schools dedicated to each of those.

Stanford has like 2 black people on the campus. What DEI admissions are you talking about 🙃😑😑

Kinda wild isn’t it 🫠. Incoming class has 74 black students. Might as well be a rounding error

I think it’s likely they’re attempting to get generic points any way they can. Everything is transactional with this administration, so any acknowledgement/acquiescence of them or their initiatives is likely to curry favor (at least, that’s probably what they think).
