After you've manually parked that Nursa to your ship 1000 times... yes, it's pretty much worth it.

If the leaks prove true, I’ll be upgrading to the Aquila with its built in med bay and use the side areas for various ATLS chassis and hover bikes. Plenty of times I’ve carried a nursa in a ship only to die and rez in the nursa spinning in space only to have to respawn a second time at home.

u/Krossfire25 17h ago

Idk if this helps but you should backspace once to leave a corpse in your main ship.(maybe a corpse in the nursa if ur really worried).

The corpse will act as a marker preventing the ship from despawn/desyncing from the nurse.

Give it a try if you can, as idk if it fully stops your issue.

u/Wulff_Ehrenhardt 12h ago

The Nursa also has a limited range IIRC

1

u/PointBlank65 MSR 9h ago

It's a T3 bed, same as the leak/rumor. So they will have the same range of about 1 planet.

T2 is a planet and it's moons, T1 is a solar system.

2

u/Frequent_Pineapple43 2h ago

Pretty sure t3 is only 50km

1

u/PointBlank65 MSR 1h ago

Well that's what I get for going off memory and not double checking units

Tier 3 100 cSCU MedGel Within 50,000 meters of bed

Tier 2 100 cSCU MedGel Within 8,000,000 meters of bed.

Tier 1 100 cSCU MedGel Within 750,000,000,000 meters of bed

From Here

u/Sidewinder1311 drake 17h ago

Now if the ATLS would properly fit in the side areas :/

4

u/deathsservant 17h ago

The ATLS doesn't fit into the side areas, too tall.

3

u/SpitroastJerry I will happily run from any dogfight. 15h ago

I got one in there last night, no issues.

1

u/RayD125 BunkerBuster 15h ago

Surely it fits when in the squatted position

1

u/Creative-Improvement ARGO CARGO 15h ago

Wait it can squat?

3

u/RayD125 BunkerBuster 14h ago

When you’re not it, it’s squatted. Pick it up with a tractor beam. I get mine into the Railen this way.

1

u/shadownddust 14h ago

Nah the hitbox remains tall.

3

u/Jashcraft00 12h ago

The hotbox does shrink a little, but the shrunken one is still too tall for the side areas. I have gotten it back in the side area by the snub bay though.

1

u/DJatomica 8h ago

Idk about the aquila but the ATLAS doesn't fit in the side areas on the current MK V, it's too tall

1

u/opticalshadow 15h ago

What does the Aquila give up?

6

u/Jace_Valarian oldman 15h ago

It gains individual crew rooms and the med bed. I’m guessing you’re going to lose the pool table area or they will push into the torpedo storage area. I hope it won’t lose cargo area too, but it’s possible.

5

u/opticalshadow 14h ago

Losing cargo might be a deal breaker for that. The pool table area is pointless anyway so that's fine. Individual crew rooms though .. That sounds like an entire interior redesign. Guess we'll find out. Thanks for the reply

1

u/ComfortableSpell6600 Citizen #28922; Original Backer 13h ago edited 13h ago

I think it's also possible to lose a Gun Turret for a senser turret if they are trying to keep the same differences the Mk IV designs maintained. On the Mk IV's the Gunship and the explorer had equal sized cargo. Difference (other than range/stock components/weapons) was primarily number of missiles and the swapped senser for gun turret. The explorer also came with a stock Ursa in addition to the snub.

I doubt the MK V explorer will lose stock missiles but may lose the reload missile racks.

1

u/Independent-Window-9 14h ago

It'll just loose some of the hab area and the missile racks im guessing. Theres a big empty space in the cargo bay that looks like it can open up.

1

u/opticalshadow 14h ago

Like we lose all missiles or just the extra stowage?

1

u/Davums 13h ago

Extra stowage probably

1

u/Independent-Window-9 11h ago

I cant see that happening.. See the IV the aquilia basically lost the top turret and the extra missiles.

64

u/Sloww-Mobius 11h ago

I'll tell you what, I am sick of doing the run around to put the nursa in my Asgard. Calling the nursa, running to the middle of my giant hangar, driving it to the side to park, calling my ship, driving back to the center, opening the ship cargo bay, going back to the nursa, and parking it. All that for one bunker run is dragging me down. I got the clipper for this reason, but now I have to do the same thing with a hover bike if I want to do hostile bunkers.

What I want is a ship that I can call and it already has what I need all set up inside. If the aquila has a medbed AND a snub when I claim it, I can just claim, and fly away to my bunker mission. Then use the snub to fly closer to the bunker, avoiding turret fire. Zero hangar chores required.

My dream would be a ship like the 400i, with a built in hover bike in the front that comes with the claim, and a medbed included. But that's just a dream.

10

u/citizensyn 9h ago

Imagine if the Aquila came with a 4 person hover vehicle instead of the snub so you can explore without the turret fire

-3

u/Voronov1 8h ago

Hover vehicles get shot by turrets.

7

u/citizensyn 8h ago

No they don't, it's the whole point of them

3

u/adub913 6h ago

Do you even play this game? lol

1

u/Voronov1 6h ago

Yes. And I once took a turret blast to the face on a Dragonfly.

1

u/citizensyn 3h ago

Literally 3 years ago

1

u/PressFtoCutLeg "I'm tired, boss." 5h ago

There was a time during which they did, but this hasnt been a thing anymore in quite a while.

1

u/Voronov1 5h ago

I got shot down on one a while back, so that would make sense.

2

u/ThomasWarrenZ 4h ago

They did use to shoot you on hover vehicles and was super annoying but they fixed that finally.

8

u/DJatomica 8h ago

I always thought that the smaller cold storage area in the 400i should've been a small medbay, it would actually give the ship a proper role.

5

u/adub913 11h ago

Snubs do not get targeted by turret fire? are you sure about that?

5

u/Happpie rsi 10h ago

I think snubs like the Merlin and fury will still get blasted but the hover bikes no longer get targeted by ground turrets

5

u/Bozhark 10h ago

400i should have a med bed

6

u/darkestvice 9h ago

400i should have a lot of things to make it worth the price. I championed buffing that ship for years. Eventually gave up.

Yes, she's fast and agile compared to her peers. But otherwise, she's only on par or worse than ships half her price.

1

u/dualoffhand 1h ago

Luxury medical treatment for premium members and VIPs

10

u/Ebonson 10h ago

The problem with this is that you can't undock the snub while landed so you'll have to keep the MK5 in the air and that means it'll be chugging down all that H2 while you're in the bunker. Problem 2 is that the snub will still be shot. You will need some good flying and something blocking the turrets to get close. Problem 3 if you do die then you are all the way back to your ship that now does not have a snub and you will need to run all the way back to the bunker.

With a Nursa you can just drive up to the bunker no problem. If you do die there's no run back you are already there.

2

u/Sloww-Mobius 10h ago edited 1h ago

I didn't know you can't use the snub while parked! That sucks so much. I've found I can park close with small snubs like the fury while avoiding the turret fire. But the respawn walk is real, and is annoying, this is very true.

5

u/yomancs 10h ago

Game design issue really

3

u/TheRegistrant new user/low karma 9h ago

You can say that again, they need to implement ground vehicle spawning in some of those open side areas

8

u/TitoJuli outlaw1 9h ago

Just give me a garage in my hangar where I can call ground vehicles and hover bikes. The hangar sides have enough space to make this reality. Just pull up your ship, call the ground vehicle in the garage, drive it into the ship - dome and dusted.

3

u/Far-Tradition5692 Grand Admiral 7h ago

By the way, you don’t need a transport on mk5. Its deflection allows you to ignore s5 attritions.

1

u/Flaksim Vice Admiral 6h ago

For now, it's a tad much I think it'll get nerfed.

3

u/Nolsoth ARGO CARGO 5h ago

Honestly even a separate lift for smaller vehicles would make all difference.

The cargo elevator could do it or one of the others on the side.

Then we could call the big ship and call in the smaller vehicles, snubs etc that need to be loaded.

1

u/RecklessCreation 7h ago

i would LOVE to see a medium origin 'generalist' ship based on the 400i

- the ability to save a loadout of a complete ship .. armor lockers, weapon/tool racks/and vehicle if it has the appropriate bay/function would be amazing .. I'd like to think its something coming 'soon'TM ...

1

u/Sad-Panda-noises 6h ago

If you turn power off to the nursa before storing you can max lift it to the side from further away. Pick n yeet

•

u/Decimus_Magnus rsi 14m ago

It's a really silly design decision at this point. Just give us an optional med bed upgrade.

-4

u/Horus_LupercalXVII 11h ago

You're playing the wrong game then buddy. 😂 Better get used to that "Sim" life.

2

u/OneBloodyDingo 11h ago

The only thing this lack of a quality of life feature is simulating is inefficiency. Besides, it's in between a game and a sim.

3

u/AnimanicManiac 9h ago

I know there's a huge part of the community that wants it to be 110% sim, but at the end of the day, I absolutely HATED buying gear and losing it just because my game crashed. I didn't play for almost 2 years before they added gear save on death.

I don't mind losing my inventory but losing everything on death meant SO much money was just wasted rebuying it. I don't want a space mall simulator lol

2

u/Sloww-Mobius 11h ago

I wouldn't mind if I could count on doing it once and having it persist. But currently my ship will randomly despawn, or randomly explode. Yesterday I spent about 45 minutes setting up a table and couch and beanbag chairs, and 3 ground vehicles in my starlancer TAC only to have it go purple and expload on my first outing.

3

u/Horus_LupercalXVII 10h ago

That's the classic Star Citizen experience!

-6

u/Central-Dispatch Crusader Industries Security ⚔️ 11h ago

What's so hard about it? You call it and move it once, then put it in. Then you either always return to hangar and store or bed-log out in space.

Relative nothingburger.

1

u/Sloww-Mobius 10h ago

Naw then the ship goes purple for no reason or runs into an invisible astroid from desync. I've never had luck with this.

17

u/Dozy_Lion 17h ago

It depends how expensive that medbed will be and what the ship loses otherwise in exchange. A Nursa always takes up space which can be used for other stuff, personally I would always prefer a build-in medbed over just taking a Nursa, on the other hand you get a ground vehicle with respawn point to avoid enemy AA turrets at bunkers.

6

u/ComfortableSpell6600 Citizen #28922; Original Backer 13h ago

Nursa is an excellent option for dealing with the AA turrets. It also helps you clear out the surface level of enemies. If I am in the mood for some ground action, I would gladly give up some cargo room for a Nursa. You also have plenty of storage space in the cabinets over the med bed for looting at the bunker.

19

u/One-Procedure-3635 16h ago

since the introduction of medgel I hardly use medbays anymore.

13

u/Ben-Hero aegis 16h ago

Same here tbh, it's just one more layer of tedious friction in a game with a lot of friction already.

Friction can make certain loops more rewarding, but medgel isn't it for me anyway.

6

u/One-Procedure-3635 15h ago

I mean I understand the logic behind it to limit the on site respawns, but a) the medgel solutions is cumbersome and one regen essentially costs you the profit if you buy the gel (is it still so, that medbeds come "loaded" when the ship is reclaimed?)

Would it be so hard to give the beds loads, that can be refueled with the ships.

6

u/Creative-Improvement ARGO CARGO 15h ago

You can find free medgels in a lot lootplaces. And yes, medbeds come pre-stocked.

5

u/MaxMulletWolf 12h ago

If that's the case, wouldn't it be more economically efficient to just toss the nursa out the air lock and reclaim it?

Honest question because I haven't actually played the game in like 4 years.

I get they are trying to limit field respawns, but the whole med gel thing just seems like yet more cumbersome friction in a game already loaded with it. At least let med gel be refilled with a restock/rearm at the pads.

5

u/Creative-Improvement ARGO CARGO 11h ago

Yes, at the moment you hardly come across a limit in medgel capacity. Maybe some big orgs with large ops do find limits, but usually you just reclaim a medical ship or ursa.

But that will probably change over time. In the latest 10 questions, they seem to be hard at work to deliver insurance for anything in the ship, so it would mean you can refill at stations. Not just medgel, also suits, guns and so on, a lot of friction you mention will be gone.

Btw, if you haven’t played in 4 years, it might be fun to come back. 4.x is a lot of different from 3.x, like lightyears apart. There are a lot of fun activities, I can recommend ASD facilities as a cool story line to do.

2

u/MaxMulletWolf 10h ago

Thanks for the info

u/One-Procedure-3635 11h ago

it take your word for it, i never find it, but maybe its the FPS missions I play.

In the last patch 4.10.1 I found a bunch at OPF / PAF sites.

18

u/yn3kk 12h ago

there should be a 32scu sized tier 3 med bed. takes hydrogen boxes and med gel to run. it's bonkers that a mobile nursa is the only viable option inside of a ship that doesn't have a med bay.

6

u/ToScH_23 11h ago

This would be so nice! Also please give me a "camper" 32scu-Container with logout-bed, shower, some storage and a Kitchen.

14

u/Werewolf-Fresh avacado 17h ago edited 17h ago

I just had this discussion elsewhere in this sub a few days ago in regards to the Mk V and the upcoming Mk V Aquila with the medbed, and it wasn't a popular opinion but I don't care. Medbay > NURSA.

Even if you leave it in the cargo bay you're cutting your cargo capacity by a noticeable amount in the Mk V. And if you do decide to actually drive it out to a bunker or whatever then you're just asking for someone to blow it up for fun. That means no respawn obviously. Not to mention you'll have to go through the tedium of loading it into the ship again if you have to claim.

If the medbed is already part of the ship then you're not cutting down any potential cargo space (assuming the Mk V Aquila has the same capacity as the Centaurus, we don't know yet), no having to faff about with loading it again if you need to claim the ship, and passersby are much less likely to have a go at blowing up a ship like the Mk V than they are to blow up someone's ground vehicle on a whim.

Then if you really want to use a vehicle to get to the objective anyway, the medbed is still safe in the ship.

6

u/remosito VRnutter 17h ago

yeah, what pays for the medbed and individual crew quarters is the big question mark I have about the aquila.... opened up common area and beds of centaurus, removed pool table. and smaller common area and direct access crew quarters from there. plus medbed to one side of the cargo area. perfect. severe cut down on cargo area...might be a skip for me...

3

u/Werewolf-Fresh avacado 16h ago

severe cut down on cargo area...might be a skip for me...

Same here. A small difference would still be okay for me just because of the convenience of the medbed being part of the ship, but the Aquila will likely be a lot more expensive than the Centaurus and I wouldn't feel it's really worth that if there's too much of a cargo difference between them.

So far the Centaurus is a great all-rounder right now (especially with that buffed up hull that will likely get "balanced" later). Been using it exclusively for the transport and defend event tracks so far and I love it. We'll just have to see how it shakes out when the variants come. I want that medbed though.

4

u/hoshinoyami bmm 16h ago

It also depends what level med bed because the nursa is only a lvl 3. If the ship has a lvl 2 or lvl 1 then the ships will be better.

3

u/WaffleInsanity avacado 17h ago

Like 90% sure you're going to lose cargo space for the Aquila regardless. They're not just going to have the same amount of cargo and a scanner station and a med bed.

6

u/Werewolf-Fresh avacado 16h ago edited 16h ago

Even if that ends up being the case, I still prefer my medbeds being part of the ship itself just to avoid the pain of having to load a vehicle (though if the difference is too significant I might pass on the Aquila altogether).

At first I didn't mind it so much but these days the hangars can be a bit heavy-handed on the culling and nothing gets me boiling more than having a vehicle pop out of existence when I bring up the ship I'm trying to load it into. Used to be that I could put the vehicle inside the hangar FE to make sure it wouldn't disappear but even that's not guaranteed anymore.

And if I have to claim the ship for some reason and do it all over again, 50/50 shot I just don't bother.

5

u/Irontaoist Meteor | ICA | Centaurus | M80 16h ago

I agree. Once I see how the Aquila differs from the Centaurus, I will react to it accordingly.
If it's favorable, I will upgrade my Centaurus into the Aquila.

3

u/ComfortableSpell6600 Citizen #28922; Original Backer 13h ago

MK IV Aquila and Andromeda had the same amount of cargo space. Sensor station involved swapping out a gun turret. Personally, I see them ditching the missile racks for reloads (and the pool table) before ditching cargo space.

1

u/itsRobbie_ 8h ago

The mk5 has massive rooms for no reason. The whole bottom half of the ship is bomb racks and it has 2 engineering rooms. Like why? If they keep these unneeded massive rooms while nerfing the cargo space just to fit in a med bed, that will be so lame. There’s no reason to mess with that when you have so much fluff on the ship already that could be trimmed instead

0

u/za_snake new user/low karma 13h ago

Did they give a timeline for the Aquila to be released?

7

u/Merchanteer 7h ago

Honestly I'd rather have the medbay so I dont have to worry about it and free up the cargo space

11

u/donkula232323 anvil 13h ago

I usually argue that neither is totally necessary...

8

u/queetz rsi 17h ago

I have a Tac and I like it. I CCUed my Max for the Mk5. I had AI assistance but this is how I see it.

If the rumoured Mk5 Aquila is like the Mk4 Aquila wherein you give up firepower for the med bed and pay $125 to CCU a Centaurus for it, it may not be worth it.

I could still use the Tac for the ground ops where the medbay is useful but the Centaurus for space combat operations.

Plus there is still that option of putting a Nursa if the Centaurus is not running cargo.

And if you are in space combat, it won't matter if your ship has a medbed or Nursa. If you get defeated in space, that's it.

Medbed or Nursa on a ship is only useful for ground ops, or maybe if someone is flying your snubs.

4

u/Intelligent_Will_567 16h ago

Tbh you only need one either the TAC or mkv. Both are great for their specific roles. However, if Aquila mkv proves to be a competitor to the TAC then you will you know what do. Right now, I don’t see why you have both ships, nursa can be easily loaded on the mkv with 144scu capacity remaining.

4

u/queetz rsi 16h ago

I love the AC130ness of the Tac, and love that scene from Transformers. Plus having two snubs in the bay and the minigun near the drop seats...I ain't letting it go.

I love the Max too, but admittedly, loading the side bays with 32 SCU boxes is a pain. Plus I have a RAFT and Hull B, the Max was very redundant.

But the Mk5 is awesome as a gunship, quite pretty and carries MOAR cargo. But I will use it more as a space gunship, especially with friends or AI blades (if that ever comes).

A Mk5 Aquila is hard to justify for exploration since I already have a Carrack and Odyssey. But if it ain't too gimpy and expensive, we'll see.

1

u/Irontaoist Meteor | ICA | Centaurus | M80 16h ago

Nah, way I see it is I use the TAC and a nova for ground ops / bunker runs, and the Centaurus solely for space combat as it is right now.
If the Aquila doesn't give up too much, and has a med bed, I'd upgrade the Centaurus to it and the TAC would become a CCU token for a future ship.

1

u/3point1_ 16h ago

I'm with you on that. I have the MAX and the TAC. I don't want to CCU the MAX, then have both the TAC and mk5. Obviously we can't CCU the TAC to the Mk5 because of the price, but I wouldn't want to lose the medbeds anyway. If a variant of the Mk5 with medbeds gets released and it's more expensive than the TAC, then I'd do that.

I have the hull B, so I don't want to keep the MAX. I'm hoping they do release the BLD variant eventually, then I'll CCU the MAX into the BLD.

•

u/Midreal32 11m ago

I agree… I’ll throw in a Nursa when I’m in the mood to take my Centaurus to do bunkers and if I decide to go haul I’ll push it out or not load it. Too many times I’ve been in space combat to only get blown up and respawn in Nursa spinning out in open space lol. Fun for the first few times then gets a little old unless you have friends to come pick you up 😆 Still nice to have a med bed but Nursa is fine also.

7

u/Asytra Twitch 15h ago

Yes it’s worth it. My TAC has been quite useful in that regard. It allows you to bring other ground vehicles. Including those with more firepower, seating, or cargo. If the Aquila keeps both turrets, my TAC may be in danger.

4

u/Intelligent_Will_567 16h ago

Nah same just a little convenience when doing ground missions. If you are doing space combat, and for some reason you get destroyed then it won’t matter if you have a nursa or medbed onboard you respawn at your home location directly.
People inflate the sense of absolutely needing a medbed when you actually don’t except for specific situitation where even a nurse is enough.

4

u/3point1_ 16h ago

I have a the TAC which has the medbed and also fits a Nursa, but if they bring out a Mk5 variant with a medbed that is over $375, I'm 100% going to CCU.

The travelsal through the TAC with it's doors came be quite annoying. It's those last 2 doors that really do it for me.

5

u/SmellMyPPKK 15h ago

I've never been in a TAC but first thing I do in most ships is open all doors and lock them. I hate reclaiming ships for this alone lol. Cause I need to do it all over again, which isn't even that bad tbh.

4

u/shadownddust 15h ago

I do this in many ships and my TAC always has all of the doors from the bridge to the engineering/hangar doors locked open. Makes it much simpler to navigate. And same on bottom from the medbay to the airlock for when I die and need to go back out there.

3

u/Affectionate_Dark63 16h ago

There will be at least one variant with a medbay or two. I suspect the most expensive of the mk5 will be around 350-400. This is my assumption based on the price differences between the mk4s

2

u/RayD125 BunkerBuster 15h ago

The Aquila mk5 WILL have a Medbay.

3

u/Extreme-Campaign9906 15h ago

Hm is there any official confirmation on this?

3

u/RayD125 BunkerBuster 15h ago

Just from data mine ship description:

Ship name: RSI Constellation Mk5 Aquila
Focus: Expedition
Description: The Constellation Aquila Mk V reimages RSI's classic multi-crew explorer for a new generation. Its bold new look honors the original while updating the design to take advantage of the increased size to feature an enhanced component suite, individual rooms for crewmembers, a tier three medical bed, and a larger cargo bay. Bigger turrets and missiles racks provide additional defense, and an updated snub-fighter docking port is the perfect home for the RSI Skylark. Get ready to traverse distant frontiers in a truly modern ship, and discover for yourself why explorers love to captain the Aquila Mk V.

0

u/Extreme-Campaign9906 14h ago

Hm okay... so if this is true its better in everything than the base model. That sucks

2

u/Davums 13h ago

It's written a bit weird but it's literally just exactly the Mk V centaurus with private crew quarters and the recreational room replaced with a small medbay. The part about increased cargo capacity is in reference to the older Mk IV variant.

1

u/vangard_14 Kraken 14h ago

I would imagine there are some kind of trade offs, maybe components

1

u/Extreme-Campaign9906 13h ago

Yea I hope so too. :-)

•

u/Midreal32 38m ago

I agree on doors. One thing I didn’t realize is you can use the engineering terminal to lock them open .. just did this in the mk5 last night.. I opened and locked like 5 doors and kept say the cockpit door and maybe hab doors functional. And it even kept them that way when I logged out and back in the bed the next day. So much better as I can run straight from front to back so much faster. So it takes a little time but worth it to open and lock doors using engineering terminals . 👍

4

u/Torpedobear_over9000 15h ago

Ship integrated Medbed has some advantages:

You don't have to load the Ursa.

You don't have to reload the Ursa when a Bug, Hangar or Elevator makes your loaded ship go boom.

You can use your full cargo grid and/or don't block internal components.

You can still bring an Ursa when you need more beds.

You can bring a TONK instead.

Depending on the details I'm - just Opinion - almost set for Aquila.

Respawn is mainly important for Fleet Operations (Explode in a Fighter - grab another or climb in a Capitals Turret) or Ground combat (where Lag/Hit registration/respawn might fk u dry).

5

u/The_Kaizz I Fly Everything But Drake 13h ago

There's pros and cons, naturally. I prefer a medbay over having a nursa in every situation where I don't have to land at a distance to get somewhere, like a bunker with hostile turrets. However, the ships I use can take out said turrets, and land safely, so it's not a big deal. I prefer using the space I'd use for an nursa for other things, like the MTC.

3

u/Jashcraft00 12h ago

Also the Centaurus is currently completely immune to repeater turrets. So basically all ground location air defense does nothing to it

2

u/Good_Amphibian_1318 12h ago

Except when said turrets respawn and blow your ship while still clearing the hostiles.

2

u/lVrizl 9h ago

Its not too bad in this case. Parked a centaurus after destroying turrets next to a bunker entrance, they respawn and I just took my sweet time going through bodies as they scratch the paint

1

u/The_Kaizz I Fly Everything But Drake 12h ago

Aside from servers glitching, it's like a 15 minute timer or something crazy long to respawn. With the exception of the timed wave missions, bunkers don't take more than a few minutes to clear.

Yes yes. That's supposed to be how it should work. My theory is that missions are stacking, so while I'm working mine someone else pulls a mission out of the great bit hat and respawn hell happens. More enemies and more turrets "teleport" in before I can complete the current mission.

u/Calint bbhappy 11h ago

Would be cool if to fix the turrets the NPCs would have to fix them. So if you're in the bunker killing the NPCs the turrets would never get fixed until you leave.

Honestly if it’s a t1 or 2 med bay I’d say yes. You get more revives out of it.

I’ve seen almost no reason to bring med gel with me because no ship I’ve ever had has lasted long enough to warrant the cost of med gel.

I believe the data mine said T3. I think they reserve T2 for dedicated medicals or Capital ships now.

u/Key-Traffic1887 12h ago

I'll be down voted into oblivion: i hate that having a nursa on-board is how a lot of olayers evaluate a ship. And I think a lot of players need to get slightly better at fps to not have this semi infinite chance to do what they are doing.

1

u/Spirited_Ad3158 6h ago

It's very difficult to "get slightly better" when you fire 20 shots into an enemy and only one registers, then they fire once through cover and headshot you into the red

1

u/Key-Traffic1887 6h ago

In which case, you are on a bad server. Doesn't matter if youve got respawn or not.

•

u/Midreal32 24m ago

I totally get what you are saying and agree in concept but I tell ya the main reason I load in a Nursa for the respawn is due to server glitches and game killing bugs. Just the other day I took a pulse into a bunker, dismounted and promptly fell through the planet.. backspaced and I was back in the Nursa and was able to continue the mission… same night I was doing a haul and got in to my ATLS and it killed me… yep spawned in Nursa and got to continue… next night I was hauling again and decided to jump down onto the top of my cargo boxes and went right through inside one of them and finally had to backspace after trying for 10 min to get out… the list goes on and on. So I bet I have spawned in Nursa about 70% of the time due to the game eating me than NPCs getting the drop on me! And I’m not joking lol.

Depends on what you are getting a losing for that medbay... If they put medbay on Mk5 and changed nothing, then it would be 100% worth it. If you have to use Tac instead of Mk5 just to get medbay then it is not worth it.

2

u/Sykecat 16h ago

Depends, so far I haven’t found many instances where I need both a medbay/nursa and cargo space; so nursa has been fine for me. But it’s definitely something to bear in mind. In addition, a build in medbay also allows you a quicker beginning as you don’t have to get the nursa from storage and pray the elevators don’t bug.

2

u/t0sh0 9h ago

Weeeell, the med bey won't kill you when you get out of the bed, but with Nursa its 50/50. Got killed by the nurse 3 times yesterday, and when its on the second revive, you have to fly back, because there is no more med gel in the nurse.

u/Alternative_Cash_601 16h ago

Ill upgrade my contarus to an aquila of it has med beds and a snub. And ill put a cycloneamd or mtc , itki and a couple hover bikes in the cargo bay :)

1

u/NivekIyak 15h ago

Medbed Tiers / distances, Aquila would probably have a higher tier bed

1

u/Davums 13h ago

Nope it's set to have a tier 3

1

u/Skamanda42 15h ago

Only if it's a better tier.

1

u/GhostReach-SO 12h ago

No, keep the sertup at present. Oneday a med bed on a ship will have a lot more value.

1

u/Intelligent-Elk7008 11h ago

Depends what you gotta do. For bunkers? It's better than nothing but a Nursa is better for those. But for any other application an onboard medbay is better especially if it's a higher tier of medbay.

More convenient as well. Don't gotta get the Nursa onboard the ship.

u/one_on_one83 High Admiral 10h ago

I use it with my Connie mkV with a pulse bike and my atlas akuma mech and a 2scu crate if I die I just go back to my ship only take the ursa if you need a shield when traveling on ground if not I just take the Pulse.

1

u/WeazelBear onionknight 9h ago

My nursa keeps falling through the hangar door on my MkV. I've had to park it until I get some fixes on it. Myself and vehicles fall through elevators, snub keeps exploding randomly. Last thing was I was parked about to turn in a hauling contract and I fell through the elevator, then my ship flipped upside down.

1

u/Strange-Scarcity Hornet Enthusiast 7h ago

The T3 bed in the Aquila is the same as what is in the Nursa, but… you end up with more free space in the Aquila for cargo.

1

u/RealLilyX 6h ago

Here's the cool thing about nursas: medgel insurance fraud!!!

2

u/meh24-7 3h ago

What I do is I keep my Nursa parked on the sides of my persistent hangar at all times same for my ATLS’s and hover bikes …So in the event I want to bring one of those small vehicles along, they’re already ready, saving me a little time since I don’t have to call them up….when the mission is over, and I return to my persistent hangar, the small vehicle I brought along serves as my shuttle from the ship to the ASOP terminal to put away the ship, And I then park the small vehicle on the side again for next time….not that this method is significantly more convenient than just calling up up nursa/small vehicle every time, but it’s a little better as I only have to call up the main ship… and the small vehicles are like decor in my persistent hangar when not in use…..*disclaimer my persistent hangar is a XL one so YMMV for the other size hangars

1

u/norgeek Legatus Navium 2h ago

If we had functional, reliable vehicle elevators in our hangars? Eh, I wouldn't bother.

Which is why I'll happily(?) pay for ships with medbays until that happens..

•

u/Hectahame 25m ago

A dedicated med bay will always have advantages over a vehicle. Be it medgel capacity, range, and amount of beds. All of which will be more relevant as the game progresses. Also having a dedicated medbay allows you to keep vehicle and cargo space open for other needs.

•

u/NoGoN Bounty Hunter 10m ago

I dont know why it doesnt just let us grab a vehicle on the UI from the side of a view of our ship (of course these would be flagged for certain ships for fitting) and you just drag it into the ship you are using and it spawn with it on the grid. This entire loading and unloading in the start is such a time waste and only fun the first few times you do it.

1

u/AWerewolfDad 17h ago

Yeah a built in med bed is generally better than taking up cargo space or your vehicle bay with an Ursa. A primary feature is almost always superior to a workaround.

1

u/Formal-Ad678 16h ago

Well the medbay doesn't use up half your cargo grid

u/BOTY123 🥑 - www.flickr.com/photos/botygaming/ 16h ago

I just find it annoying and janky to have to put a NURSA in my ship compared to having a built-in medbed.

1

u/DanaXue 14h ago

sorry for the maybe stupid question, but how did you put your nursa like this? i want to maximize cargo space but somehow i cant get it like this

3

u/ToScH_23 13h ago

You can move the Ursa with the Maxlift tractor beam. Its bigger than the multitool one. With holding r you can rotate something while tractoring.

You can buy it at orbit station cargo decks.

1

u/DanaXue 13h ago

Oh! thanks i will try it, i dont know why but i always thought even the maxlift is to week for vehicles

2

u/ToScH_23 13h ago

You can even move smaller ships with it ;P

u/ComfortableSpell6600 Citizen #28922; Original Backer 13h ago

Tractor beam - Best method to maximize SCU space (Or carry 2 Nursas)

Sure it may add having to get out and tractor beam place the ship on the lift, but it does open up other possibilities for transportation of cargo or other vehicles.

Med bed simps have been summoned.

u/Custom_Destiny Endeavor - Supercollider 5h ago

Remember when medical game play was going to be its own deep rich profession?

That’s when they were selling a $1,000 hospital ship.

They will, at some point, nerf the NURSA temporarily - not because that’s what they promised - because it will sell some ships with bigger beds.

But they want the game to be accessible, so they’ll un nerf it.

So:  NURSA is fine for now, and when it stops being fine don’t panic.  Just take a break for a while until it’s fine again.

Nursa takes up cargo space.
