This is QOL we really need.

This is from the June Monthly Report. They were showing off the next visual step for Claim Mode. Would use the same search bar like normal mode and toggle for on/off site.

Edit: And cost to recover the item

Cost to recover?

2

u/ClawsonTX 9h ago

Yeah looks like just how there in AUEC cost to claim your ship there eventually will be a cost to claim items back. Shown in bottom right of each, paints are free etc.

Even pledged items?

u/Zelot2256 9h ago

Id assume so.

That sucks

u/Sbarty 9h ago

you just wanted legit pay to win? Thats wild lol.

1

u/_Pawer8 origin 9h ago

It's not pay to win. You can still get weapons in game. But if I spend real money for something it better be available to me without having to sink time into the game

So pay to win, gotcha.

Pay to win means you get better stuff by paying. And there's a lot of it in SC. But this just ain't it

Money is exchanged for time or energy. Some of us dont have a lot of time or energy but have lots of time. Some of us have lots of time but not a lot of money. That's the balance.

Goto the freight elevator at ur homebase. Far right upper corner. Here u can claim ur RSI hangar stuff if lost ingame.

u/Huntguy Polaris 12h ago

For RSI store/hangar items you can pull this screen up at your home location freight elevator.

Claimed items are functionally bricked the same way ships are.

Once they add in non-ship items for claiming, we're gonna need that search bar even more than we already do.

CIG: Can we get a fulltext search bar here for QoL, please?
EDIT: Plus A to Z sort. This order makes no sense.
EDIT #2: In June“s Monthly Report a visual mock-up was shown, but not yet implemented.

I agree, but god damn bro 57 pages.

u/pedant69420 Mirai 11h ago

shit yeah, i thought i had it bad searching through ten!

u/FistRipper 12h ago

What's this screen?

2

u/A_Credo 12h ago

Freight elevator screen. They added an extra button to claim MyHangar (pledged) items

1

u/FistRipper 12h ago

What? Are they allowing to call pledge stuff on the cargo elevator? Or is it just claim them out of convenience?

2

u/A_Credo 12h ago

Ya, as a way to claim them if you lost them.

It will ā€œbrickā€ old items, so you won’t be able to duplicate them.

2

u/Zap500 reliant 12h ago

How this isn't a basic feature thought of when first implementing it is beyond me. Far from the first thing that needs it, or is waiting on a search bar in the game.

It seems like they're rediscovering the basics of UI design with every new UI they make. It's genuinely one of the most annoying things about CIG, because it feels like they're not actually thinking a lot about what they're doing

Given the staff turnover, it makes sense: capable developers leave, and interns with absolutely no clue take their place...

These interns will eventually rise up the ranks through sycophancy and submission and make lead designers....

Yet they are still clueless.

This claim mode is temporary

For a short while in EVO 4.9 we had the 'new' claim mode where it's integrated with the freight terminal proper, so could search etc. not sure many people poked at it, but I did and it was much improved. The card for ship loadout/claim has is now in the 4.11 bucket

u/Aazatgrabya 9h ago

And a filter for items no longer in your possession.

1

u/MikeAffec Polaris 12h ago

I agree!

1

u/Roxrage 12h ago

Naa this is nothing important. Oh, btw have you seen in Orison, after the long multi hour mission, you can spot the space whales šŸ‹ for a few seconds! It's so cute and brings me and my org such joy 🤩 we're so glad they implemented the lovely space whales šŸ‹ 🄰

I had to find a Mark V paint after my rental expired. I had to manually scan 29 pages of data. Definitely could use a filter box here.

1

u/NecroBones 2012 backer / crazy reckless pilot 11h ago

Yes, it is so absolutely needed. You have more pages than I do, and even in mine it's impossible to find anything.

1

u/adub913 10h ago

57 pages????

2

u/Canadian-Goof-Ball L22 Wolf 9h ago

I was that too ,thats a lont of paints and armors

1

u/GodwinW Universalist 9h ago

Please yes.

u/NeonSamurai1979 1h ago

Even more concerning is that, apparently, no one even thought to include a search field from the very beginning…

The UI design is, unfortunately, borderline war crime at this point.

Even the most rudimentary things where every normal and sane person would think about to add such things from the start, here we have to wait years or even decaded for them to come down from their high tower and grace us mortals with their insight.

I swear it's as easy as opening your dev tools, and telling claude to add a search box. I'll come in and do it. Hell, you can even use my subscription.

2

u/Standard-Local4860 12h ago

Make sure to say no mistakes!

1

u/Azrethoc 600i Rework 11h ago

obviously key

1

u/f4ble 10h ago

Hell - why not just give it access to allĀ  of sc and make it fix it....

0

u/Stykalaweed 9h ago

Absolutely! This is sooooo anoying right now, hell even just sorted by name would be infinitely better...
