51 days today!
My daughter told me the other day that she was glad I was back and that she missed me. I got done with inpatient 46 days ago, she wasn’t talking about me being physically home.

This makes both my face and my heart smile for you and your daughter. I am a girl mom and my daughter loves having me back, too.
Such a beautiful feeling, isn't it?

I also have a teenage daughter that wrote a similar sentiment on my mother's day card earlier this year. She simply thanked me for spending so much time with her these past two years. In that, I knew that my actual PRESCENCE has changed. I hadn't thought of that specifically myself. But, she definitely noticed. Our kids... they notice our prescence in sobriety because they certainly felt our absence in active alcoholism. I know your story continues to grow in this way and that you will be a continued present person and parent for her. I promise you that will always be a greater feeling than the absence we create diving into the black hole of drunkeness. You got this! IWNDWYT

Congratulations! That's exactly one of the things I've enjoyed most, being reliably present for my family. IWNDWYT! ✌️💚
