Does anyone know what it means?

Post image

Found this at in the bookcase of an elderly man I help take care of. He is not able to communicate so I cannot ask him but what’s up with the triangle with the eye in the top?

That's god

Represented in the triangle to represent the Trinity of God, J-Boy and the holy Ghost.

19

u/Public-Dragonfly4879 7d ago

Oh my gawd, I just snorted so loud over the term “j-boy”

12

u/bigSTUdazz 7d ago

Its his hip-hop name

2

u/Desperate_Set_7708 5d ago

In the Deep South of the U.S. he’s simply called J.R. /s

2

u/Substantial-Love1085 6d ago

Guys, guys, this is borderline blasphemy, the new testament has made it abundantly clear that it should be written as 'J-Boi'

2

u/AthleteEfficient2873 7d ago

I see the star of David in there. I was always under the impression that jews didn't believe in the holy trinity just the fact that God was the almighty. Maybe just one jewish sect?

7

u/Goo_4_Rent 7d ago

Well, since Christianity has roots in Judaism, there's a lot of use of the Star of David in various Christian thingies.

0

u/AthleteEfficient2873 7d ago

Yes but my understanding is the jews don';t adhere to the second testament where Jesus entered. I admit I am not well versed

3

u/Double_Soup644 7d ago

Well maritime power walker Moses and the carpenter Jeshua Ben Yusuf were jews. Maybe it's just representing the people back then?

5

u/cylk_30 6d ago

Maritime power walker moses 🤣

1

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 4d ago

moses himself preferred the term “water repellent”

2

u/Aromatic_Pack948 6d ago

The ten commandments are in the old testament and came from the Moses and the mountain story. So, Judaism is the source of the 10 commandments.

1

u/AthleteEfficient2873 5d ago

But isn't Jesus part of the trinity which would make it Christian? As I stated I am not well versed just curious

2

u/LovedAsIf 5d ago

The Christian Bible is the Old Testament (the Torah and the prophets of Israel) and the New Testament (the Gospels, Acts, the Epistles, and Revelations). The first Christian s were Jews who knew that Jesus was the fulfillment and the One which the Old Testament was preparing Israel to receive. Israel’s job included being a light to the rest of the world so that everyone would come to expect and prepare for Jesus’ advent/coming. And even though Israel didn’t did a bad job of preparing the rest of the rest of the world, the Church knew that the Old Testament came from God and was part of what the Church inherited. So even though you can buy the New Testament on its own, the Christian Bible is both the Old Testament and the New Testament together.

The Ten Commandments do not make any reference to Jesus! They were published in the old testament and the Torah way before Jesus was born, and before there were Christians.

The commandments are from Judaism and Christianity evolved from Judaism. The commandments are part of both religions.

This plaque is a statement of the Ten Commandments and includes symbols of all the groups that use them as a guide.

1

u/AthleteEfficient2873 5d ago

But I thought the trinity included Jesus?

1

u/Aromatic_Pack948 5d ago

What is it you are not understanding about this? The document was printed in the early 1900’s by a multi-national, multi-religion group that wanted to promote the Ten Commandments. The symbols around the text, too and bottom, are for the various religions that all use the ten commandments for guidance. That includes both Judaism and Christianity, so there are symbols from both religions. There seem to be Masonic symbols as well because this group was connected with the masons, and it seemed to be in both the US and in the UK, hence the Union Jack flag and the Stars and Stripes flag.

1

u/Jofereal 4d ago

The original trininty was from Zorastrianism, injected into the Torah c.685bc by Darius & Xerxes.

2

u/LovedAsIf 5d ago

This rendition of the 10 Commandments is Christian. At one time, a similar plaque/picture hung in most Christian homes and children learned them by heart by about third grade.

2

u/AthleteEfficient2873 5d ago

The 10 commandments were well before Christ was born

2

u/LovedAsIf 5d ago

Yes they were. Is there any reason why the 10 Commandments, in this form, would not be a form one would find in Christian households? Especially since this is the King James translation?

-1

u/AthleteEfficient2873 5d ago

Just like the pledge of allegiance we said as we saluted the flag every morning in grade school the whacko democrats removed it

3

u/LovedAsIf 5d ago

I don’t think Democrats removed the 10 Commandments from people’s homes; though atheists are responsible for removing them from schools. Faith in Christ isn’t inherited. We must each choose to follow him.

1

u/Jofereal 4d ago

The guy who carried those tablets down from Mt Sinai was Hebrew.

1

u/Abject-Leadership421 5d ago

j-town (Dave Anthony of The Dollop podcast uses this nickname for the J-man)

14

u/Prize_Guarantee3295 8d ago

that eye in the triangle is just the all-seeing eye, very common in old religious art and masonic stuff. it's supposed to represent god watching over everything. the eagle at the bottom with the british and american flags is kinda weird though, never seen that combination before

7

u/Parking-Bet7989 8d ago

The Bald Eagle is a primary symbol of the "Fraternal Order of Eagles", spreading its wings defensively or protectively over the flags.

The Scroll held by the eagle reads: "Presented by Youth Guidance Commission Fraternal Order of Eagles," which identifies the print as part of the nationwide campaign launched by the organisation in the mid-20th century to post the Ten Commandments in public spaces, schools, and courthouses.

The Union Flag (United Kingdom) and the Stars and Stripes (United States) are draped beneath the eagle, representing an alliance or shared heritage between the two nations within the context of the organisation's messaging.

The Chi-Rho Symbol which is located right above the eagle's head, this ancient Christian monogram represents Jesus Christ.

1

u/Comfortable_Use_8407 7d ago

So, kinda like the flock camera of olden times?

1

u/Exciting-Wallaby-898 6d ago

The eye is also on our money. You may have seen it?

5

u/Knob709 8d ago

It's on the US $1 bill.

2

u/Ghost_of_Gumby 7d ago

That specifically is the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States (the front side is the eagle).

5

u/AthleteEfficient2873 7d ago

Many of our nations founders were freemasons. That is the all seeing eye. The Boston Tea Party was said to be performed by a bunch of drunk freemasons

1

u/Sea_Prep_Tidal_26 7d ago

Just because you are drunk doesn’t mean you cannot be angry.
Two things can be true at the same time.

2

u/AthleteEfficient2873 7d ago

Sounded like a pretty good party to me. I am a mason

3

u/Anam_Liath 5d ago

Look on the back of s dollar bill and you'll see the triangle eye. I forget the real meaning, but those David Icke lizard people conspiracy folks think it's a secret society mark of the rich and scaly ones.

They got all bent about my kid's daycare because their logo of a schoolhouse steeple and bell looked like the eye and signaled they were draining fluids off the kids and shipping it to the scalies.

This was 40 years ago. This dreck goes waaaaaaay back.

5

u/HurricaineAlex 5d ago

Long live Art Bell!

2

u/Snoo_72715 3d ago

I LOVED him! Took me forever to get used to George Noory, but I ended up liking him as well.

2

u/HurricaineAlex 3d ago

Every night at work it was another adventure. He was something else. I was no fan of Noory either. Still not. But, he honours Art and hey, at least he's not Hilly Rose.

3

u/SameAsItEverWas410 7d ago

The Ten Commandments are Old Testament. Both Jewish and Christian denominations all believe the teachings of the Old Testament.

3

u/Current-Towel-381 7d ago

I thought it had something to do with the Masons.

4

u/HoldMyMessages 6d ago

The symbol of a triangle with an eye in it represents: (the triangle = the holy trinity). The eye is the Eye of Providence aka the All Seeing Eye. In freemasonry it represents the Grand Architect of the Universe. It’s easily searched on the internet.

1

u/MtMan65 5d ago

TBF, he did search it on the internet.

0

u/Ok_Kale_8615 6d ago

When you say 'Mason's " you mean Lucifarians? Albert Pike thinx so.

3

u/Frosty-League2464 6d ago

The triangle eye at the top is the all seeing eye. It's on the dollar bill as well... Esoteric symbol of God's omniscience... also used for totalitarian government surveillance states to be all knowing like God is

3

u/DeviceDefiant7664 4d ago

Masonic symbol all seeing eye

2

u/EntireStatement2603 7d ago

It mean nothing at all, if you fall for it remember you've been warned.

2

u/Fiaran 6d ago

Who the heck are the "Fraternal Order of Eagles"?

3

u/Effective_Gap9582 6d ago

The Youth Guidance Commission of the Fraternal Order of Eagles was a national program created in the early 1950s to promote good morals in children and stop juvenile delinquency by sharing the Ten Commandments.

2

u/Fiaran 6d ago

Thanks for filling me in!

0

u/Dessicated_Mastodon 6d ago

So.... diet hitler youth?

1

u/gheiminfantry 7d ago

I guess I've broken everyone but the first one.

2

u/cPB167 7d ago

You've killed somebody and committed perjury against someone in court? I don't think I would be admitting that online. Those are both still illegal

And so is theft for that matter, but I feel like that one's a little more common

1

u/gheiminfantry 7d ago

Killing someone isn't illegal if it's done in self-defense or as part of military operations. And there's no commandment about perjury or court. Maybe don't read into the commandments next time.

2

u/cPB167 7d ago

Why are you so angry?

That's the traditional interpretation either way

0

u/gheiminfantry 7d ago

Do you just like making up stories in your head? The only one here who's angry is you because you didn't get the response you were looking for. It must be so sad to be you.

3

u/cPB167 7d ago

K lol

1

u/Jofereal 4d ago

Dismissal and reaction formation are evidence that he’s right about your bs.

1

u/LovedAsIf 5d ago

Perjury is bearing false witness. All of Israel was any Hebrew’s neighbor.

1

u/gheiminfantry 5d ago

But it's only a crime if you do it in a courtroom. Not on the street.

Yes, you have a point. But not on the topic we're talking about.

2

u/LovedAsIf 5d ago

Think back to the world 4000 years ago. Not many courtrooms. People worked things out in small family and community groups. Everyone was literally your neighbor. And maybe your kid broke your only plow but you blamed your neighbor who had borrowed it a few days before. That way, your neighbor might be required to pay for it. It’s the same thing siblings and friends do to each other and it’s all perjury, a word and an idea that existed long before the kind of courts and juries we’d recognize today.

What we’ve done is treat lying about another person as less than perjury. Usually the punishment is less but the harm to relationships and, especially, the innocent is always destructive even though we pretend it’s not as bad as someone lying under oath.

1

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 5d ago

“bearing false witness” has a legal connotation as it is used here

0

u/gheiminfantry 5d ago

Except that the 10 Commandments aren't a legal document. No matter how badly the Jesus Freaks want it to be.

1

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 4d ago

didn’t say they were. but as a collection of period documents, that’s the connotation of the phrase when it was originally written. they were talking about giving evidence in disputes, and they were writing a book of laws.

i assure you, i am not asserting that a book of folk tales is currently law anywhere other than cloud cuckoo land. and texas. same thing.

1

u/Ok-Error-6564 7d ago

You killed someone?

2

u/gheiminfantry 7d ago

11B in 3 wars. Yes, I've killed people.

1

u/Ok-Error-6564 6d ago

I don’t think that counts against you.

1

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 5d ago

i don’t think it’s always that cut and dried to the people who have been in that position.

1

u/Ok-Error-6564 5d ago

I know. My brother did 3 tours in Afghanistan. My dad served in Vietnam. My grandparents served in WW II and Korea.

-1

u/Baeolophus_bicolor 4d ago

then you should definitely know that as a person who didn’t, you cant just blithely sum up your moral declaration and hand it off. people who experience having to do those things don’t take it lightly, and many carry guilt and shame for the things they did for the rest of their lives.

and just asking like that, so carelessly, might not be taken too well by someone whose answer is a yes. it’s an impertinent question to have asked in the first place, and the kind of thing an unthinking child would ask. please be more decorous, as soldiers deserve some consideration, as i am sure you agree.

1

u/Ok-Error-6564 4d ago

Are you okay?

0

u/Jofereal 4d ago

Why are you concern trolling instead of learning?

0

u/gheiminfantry 4d ago

Are you ok asshole? Because he's 100% correct.

lluminati "All seeing Eye" origin The Mason's ...Equivalent to the Racoon Lodge in the Honeymooners

1

u/Ritchsbitch 7d ago

The eye is on dollar bills….

1

u/Winter_Event3562 7d ago

The triangle with the eye is similar to what is on the US one dollar bill. It is also a symbol used by one of those secret societies--the Masons I guess. I googled. "The ‘Eye of Providence’ – an eye set within a triangle – is one such symbol, associated with Freemasonry but also linked with the apocryphal Illuminati, a secret group of elite individuals allegedly seeking to control global affairs."

1

u/No_Seaworthiness8994 7d ago

It's on the dollar bill I think? I haven't had cash in a while

1

u/Effective_Gap9582 6d ago

The Youth Guidance Commission of the Fraternal Order of Eagles was a national program created in the early 1950s to promote good morals in children and stop juvenile delinquency by sharing the Ten Commandments.

1

u/Frosty-League2464 6d ago

What does "bear false witness against thy neighbor" mean? Don't tell lies about your neighbor?

2

u/Dessicated_Mastodon 6d ago

Yea. Exactly. Dont tell tall tales about other people.

1

u/Frosty-League2464 6d ago

Got it. Thanks!

1

u/HoldMyMessages 6d ago

In 1897 Leo Taxil publicly confessed he made up the whole story about Pike. I was just answering the question about the symbols.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad3541 6d ago

It's also on the back of the dollar bill

1

u/destinygroove1 6d ago

Its a pictorial representation of a prelude to the government controlled AI subservience systems of the future...

1

u/ProfessionalYam3119 6d ago

The All-Seeing Eye, or Eye of Providence. It's also on the reverse of the US dollar bill. Relatively common symbol.

1

u/InformalStructure150 6d ago

Well this rules out everyoin the present administration

1

u/angelusdrakonis 6d ago

That belongs to a Freemason building. Was never supposed to brought out of it.

1

u/Typical-Wave2450 6d ago

Ten Commandments with probably Masonic symbology. The man was like part of some club or society. Pyramid with the eye is on the American dollar bill; early symbol of knowledge, etc.

1

u/SearchAlarmed7644 5d ago

Masonic. Otherwise exactly what it says.

1

u/DarwinsFynch 5d ago

Isn’t that symbol also on the dollar bill? Does it represent something to do with the Masons? I thought it did

1

u/Weary-Prize-4716 5d ago

Faternal Order of Eagles. I guess they like using the All Seeing Eye symbol as well

1

u/Fresh_Photograph_363 5d ago

I do believe that is the All seeing Eye. It is on every bill printed is on the reverse side. It is also used by the masons there is also a British flag and an American flag on the bottom as well as a Jewish star at the top

1

u/Status-Joke3259 4d ago

Look up info about masons

1

u/Wild-Ad3458 4d ago

Looks like a gift given long ago.

1

u/Whole-Apple7298 4d ago

It’s the all seeing eye.

1

u/JustOneMoreMorning 4d ago

The commandments in this plaque have been rearranged. "False witness" is normally #9.

1

u/Expensive-Truck1292 3d ago

What are the 10 commandments seriously? From the Bible and the all seeing eye the eye of god has been in use for centuries it’s not even weird at this point it’s pretty commonplace and universal and dates back to biblical and ancient times

0

u/NuWorldSamurai 7d ago

Mostly fiction with some universal golden rules added in.
