You mean democrats arnt driving lifted trucks flying like 10 Kamala flags! Drapped in their Kamala gear from head to toe

u/poopiebutt505 20h ago
And they can't math how much more expensive that increase is in a 22 gallon tank. I paid $5.35 for my hi test. 21 gallons add sales tax. Do that math. I was paying about $2.85 So, $30+ more a full.tank.
I am old. I buy brewed coffee, no dessert beverages,.so I couldn't quit my $2/free refill brewed coffee to make.up for this increase.
And why should I when this is a war.for.absokutely the reason is to keep Bibi out of prison.

In their deluded scenario, the liberal with a $75k pickup truck drives less than 100 miles per week.
5
u/WadeSlade42 19h ago
Well, obviously liberals don't work, so they don't need to drive anywhere! Besides, why would they leave their 400k house?
Now, how did they afford a 400k house and 75k truck with no job? Welfare.

They really do have short memory. I was told they wouldn't vote for him at all unless he'd get gas down.
But for what it's worth, I don't see any MAGA gear anymore at my job. Used to be, id get like 5 people a day just decked out in it. But now, they just don't, which is saying something this close to an election.

So when Biden was president gas prices were a complete breakdown in civilization, but under Trump it’s no biggie?
40
u/PokecheckFred 20h ago edited 5h ago
Weeelllll, ya see, that's because Biden's high gas prices were caused by externalities, while Trump's high prices were the direct consequence of Trump's actions.
So clearly it's Obama's fault.

$75K isn’t even that uncommon for pick up trucks these days. That’s just a higher trim on an F150. Even Raptors are more like $85K. $400K is a the median home price in the Country. What am I missing?

u/According-Insect-992 8h ago
I live in Missouri and it costs $50-$60 to fill up the Impala. So I know those giant “F” series type trucks have got to be getting up there in tank costs.
I have seen several truckers in recent weeks paying over $1,000 to fill their long haul tanks with diesel and them expressing that it was a historical first for them.
Those trucks cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s not like paying more for a conventional gas vehicle is going to make paying more for fuel easier.
→ More replies (7)11
u/Do_Ye_Fear_Death 7h ago
Not a trucker but comparatively for a small car like my city civic, a tank of gas went from $28 to $42 for the same tank of gas. It may not seem like a ton but, for that jump its hard to stomach since theres no end in sight.
→ More replies (1)7
u/Putrid-Mortgage6069 4h ago
It is not that $14 per tank is nickles and dimes, but for arguments sake.... Over the course of the year, fill-ups will probably cost you more than an additional $1,000.
The best path for a return to normalcy is to vote Democrat for every office on your ballot this November. MAGAts and Republicans today are Incompetent, Corrupt, TREASONOUS! Following the lead of their great, orange shit-stain; the lord they have placed before God and Jesus Christ.
And, BTW, about those pesky Trump-Epstein PEDOfiles.

Liberal here. I have a 11 year old Mazda3 with 290,000+ miles on it and a 13 year old Prius with 180,000 miles on it. My husband's 20 year old Jeep has 382,000+ miles on it. My kid both drive old cars, 2008 and 2013, too. People I know make do with what we have. Right wing Cons drive those big trucks, live in big houses and gripe constantly about the cost of things.

Liberal here. Drive BMWs M versions. Gas is expensive. But I owe no money. Paid off house and car. Owned my own business, put myself through professional school and was one of the few.docs believing in universal Healthcare 30 years ago. Now that busines totally owns medicine, docs are starting to realize they are just paid algorithm markers to send to the factory program to tell doc what drug deficiency the patient has, or what part needs taking out. And 70% of the time.they are right, and the other 30% of patients will just be wrongly treated. Oh well.
45
u/nameoftheday 19h ago
Wait people in big $75k trucks are only paying an extra $10? Don’t most of these trucks take like 25 gallons of gas? And gas is like 1.20 more per gallon than last year which would be $30 more. And if it’s diesel it’s like $2.50 more per gallon which is more than $50 extra per fill up.
Then again my math could be wrong.
Also isn’t $400k pretty average for a house at this point? At least in my area it seems to be. My house that was slightly less than $150k in 2018 is now valued over $300k. The only changes I’ve made is a remodeled bathroom, and trust me the upgrade is not worth an extra $150k.
19
u/Accomplished_Self939 12h ago

I used to budget $120 a month for gas, and I’ve had to bump that up to $200 for a Honda Civic (daily driver) and a Pilot (for whoever is carting the kids around). Both vehicles get wildly better gas mileage than anyone I know with a truck so yeah… not just $10 a week

Keep in mind that is per fill-up. Do depending on how often you have to gas up that gets even more expensive. If you have any significant travel time where you gas up multiple times a month that extra cost gets itself multiplied. Same for food prices because trucks have to use that same gas.
Also those other costs are low balling things as well. $400k for a house... Where? Alaska?

As many others have said, the truck for the democrats is unrealistic. However I think a deeper point here is wrong. I don’t know anyone mad that gas is expensive. It’s WHY it’s expensive that’s the problem.
If it was announced that there’s going to be some massive gas tax to fund clean energy, ev charging infrastructure, and large EV incentives I don’t know any democrats who would be mad at that.
Would the increase in daily expenses be fun, no, but democrats would realize that it is for the good of everyone and the future.
Instead we have a pointless war, killing children and families senselessly, further destroying the earth, and making us a world laughing stock. Just to make a few rich fucks even richer
5
u/HoldenOrihara 19h ago
In north Carolina I don't think it's unrealistic; it's definitely some "our blessed homeland, their barbarous wastes" type cognitive dissonance.

4
u/highhaileehere 20h ago

11
u/SurrealLoneRanger 10h ago
Let’s do some math, since MAGA governors have cut education fundings and steered it elsewhere. Average miles per year is 12,000. So divide that by 52 to find out per week. 231 miles driven per week. $75k truck is either luxury SUV or luxury pickup. Both will average about 15mpg. Divide the miles driven by mpg and you will get gallons driven per week or 15.4gallons. Because of the Iran War, gas has increased about $1.5 more per gallon. So 15.4 gallons times $1.5 more per gallon gives you $23. The difference between $23 and what you said ($10) is ($23-$10)/$10 =1.3 or 130% (cuz that’s what percent means). Your AI cartoon numbers are 130% off! And that’s a lot.
This is why MAGA governors are bad for Americans, they create dumb kids who can’t do math.

I'm in an 87 Oldsmobile I bought for cash and that extra $10-$15 a week is a significant jump for me. I barely drive... my work is only about a mile from my house. I just work, go shopping, and take my dog to the dog park. I used to put in ~ $30 every payday and now it's nudging towards $60.
Plus everything else is more expensive because diesel is over $6 a gallon. Yesterday I paid $6 a pound for ground beef on sale... before Twitler took office it would regularly be under $4, sometimes as low as $2.89. We barely get beef anymore.

Ten dollars a week? Seriously? Are they honestly pretending it is only a ten dollar per week difference?
Gas where we live in Canada is sitting at $1.95 per liter. Gas was sitting around $1.25 per liter a year ago. Our Toyota hybrid has a 45 liter tank. It costs over $30 more per fill up. Even with the great economy of the hybrid, it is more than $10 per week! And my truck hasn't moved in over a month - if I drove it as much as I used to, around fifty kilometers per day, it would be over $5 per day more.
