He doesn't actually make trillions of dollars. Tesla's valuation compared to it's actual annual profit and compared to other car companies is insanely misaligned. Like famously bad. It is only valued so high because it is considered a tech company so it is valued by its potential tech.
Tesla's total annual revenue, let alone profit, doesn't even surpass $100 billion and it has decreased YoY.
What he's very good at is selling massive promises of future innovations to investors to increase the valuation of his company beyond what it's actually worth. That's why he does these useless stunts.
It takes zero brainpower to walk in and write a check so the actual brainpower can do the job. That is all Elon is, a walking checkbook born from his daddy's money.
