This show and Teen Titans '03 are what made me a DC fan for life. The gateway drugs if you will.

Funny story, sort of. I saw this and said to myself that the date couldn’t possibly be correct because I had watched the premiere in my apartment in Manhattan - and I had moved out days before 9/11.
But then I remembered that friend of mine at the time worked in marketing for LOreal, which was a major sponsor for the network. She had access to all the pilots months beforehand. Not only did we see Smallville earlier in the summer of 2001…but the actress playing Ma Kent in the original pilot was not Annette O’Toole. I was shocked later when the show officially started that Superman III Lana Lang was now Clark’s mom.

Man it was such a great memory of mine. I remember being so excited for this show. I was playing Diablo 2 to pass time. I found a shaftstop and traded it for some SoJs and then this came on. Loved the first episode and the next day on the bus we all talked about how excited we were for future episodes and scenarios. 8th grade was my favorite year man. Good times.

Happy birthday to one of the worst interpretations of Superman ever.

No, not Superman. Remember, they went to RIDICULOUS lengths to make sure he was never Superman. That there was the Red-Blue Blur! 🙄

The title of this post is also what Lois said to Clark on October 9th, 2021.
