My Setup / New Synth Day They grow up so fast
It seems like yesterday he was learning how to walk, now he plays daddy's synths.
(He wasn't really playing, just randomly twisting knobs and playing keys, but I'm really proud of him)
Left part of the setup is a raspberry pi based midi translator to let the launchcontrol xl3 control my old XPS-30 (aka Juno-DS).

I do the same thing with my boy! He looooves the MicroFreak. Also loves his little kid keyboard that has multiple key settings, beats, tunes and even a mic. It’s inspiring to watch them explore. Great post.

Thats the dream setup right there, kid already has better taste in gear than most of us. The random knob twisting is how all of us started anyway

My 2 and a half year old loves hanging out in my studio. Every now and then I’ll let him noodle on some synths. So far I’ve actually ended up using 2 different patches he made (not so intentionally). I can’t wait til he’s old enough to start showing him how they actually work 😭 I didn’t start getting into sound design until I was 18 he is already well on track.

"just randomly twisting knobs and playing keys" is sort of the extent of this whole thing, so he's right on track
