I'm Aigerim, from Kazakhstan. I've been in Tbilisi for 6 months. I'm currently in a hostel where the owner is giving me 2-3 days to leave. I have 15 lari left. My PayPal is stuck, but I'm trying to withdraw it through crypto right now. Once I get it, I can pay for a place or help with rent.
I'm looking for a room or even a couch for 1-2 weeks. I'm quiet, clean, non-drinking, non-smoking. I can help around the house, cook, clean, or help with translation (Russian/English). I have two law degrees and project management experience.
If you can help or know someone who can, please comment here or DM me. I'm not asking for money, just a safe place to stay while I sort out my PayPal and find work.
Thank you.

Looking around I see practically everyone either depressed or on drugs or on shitty jobs and ending up depressed.
people above 40 are hating people around (mostly)
Buildings everywhere, 32423423 buildings and so few parks/forest.
This place is like fcking Mordor I swear.

Hello,
So I’d be visiting the Saburtalo area for about two weeks, and I work remotely, but I have a good amount of meetings and I’d like to meet somewhere outside, but that’s quiet enough that I could be heard but not too quiet that I would be disturbing others.
Appreciate all responses.
Thanks in advance

I came to Tbilisi from Astana as a Turkish citizen. Astana had really upscale cafes and modern areas where I could walk around and enjoy the modernity of the city but I had to leave because I could only stay for 90 days.
I decided to come to Tbilisi because I had heard a lot of positive things about the city.
However I realized that the quality of meat and chicken here is pretty terrible compared to Astana and Im a gym rat so food quality is really important to me.
I work remotely and make over $4k USD per month and sometimes up to $6k. Im currently living near City Mall in Saburtalo but I havent really found any nice upscale quiet cafes or modern areas to hang out around here. I also tried a coworking cafe but it wasnt that great either.
If you were in my situation what would you do? Im considering moving to Thailand but I could only stay for around 2 months due to visa limitations and I dont really wanna go back to Istanbul.
Am I missing out on something in Tbilisi? Maybe Im just staying in the wrong area?
My rental agreement is monthly so I can easily change apartments or move to a different neighborhood. Im thinking about extending my stay for another month to explore the city a bit more before making a decision.
Would love to hear your thoughts especially from people who have more experience about Tblisi.

Hello everyone. You might have noticed that many people buy and sell second-hand items, or repair old things instead of buying new ones. I wonder what motivates this—is it the money, the environment, or did it just happen that way? I’d love to hear about your own experiences, even if it’s just a short story.

Saghamo mshvidobisa dzmebo! 🇬🇪
I am a Turkish national who used to live and work in Tbilisi back in 2022. I worked as a bilingual Turkish-English Customer Support Agent at Teleperformance (it was still Majorel back then). I was making decent money and honestly enjoyed every single moment I spent in your beautiful country. Having a few beers near Turtle Lake or hanging out at Mziuri Park just hit different...
Unfortunately, family comes first, so I had to make the difficult decision to return to Turkey. Fast forward four years, and I’ve officially had enough of both my family and the political/economic situation here. I am desperately seeking a way out and want nothing more than to return to the Georgian ecosystem.
However, I’ve heard about the new immigration and labor laws that took effect on March 1st, requiring foreign workers to obtain a formal work permit.
I have a few questions for the community:
How is the job market looking right now for someone with a year of solid CS experience who is fluent in both English and Turkish? Are Turkish-speaking roles still in high demand in Tbilisi?
Will BPO companies or international agencies go through the hassle of sponsoring a work permit for an expat worker under these new regulations?
Are there any alternative pathways or advice you could share on how I can legally make my way back into Georgia?
Didi madloba in advance for any insights or leads! Hope to see you guys soon.

With all the new residential developments popping up across Tbilisi, I’m wondering if we’re heading toward oversupply.
Do you think property prices will continue rising over the next 5 years, or are we approaching a plateau?

I reached out to a group of young Russians I once met at a bar where I performed at an open mic. They added me to a chat. Mostly my peers young guys and girls hustling however they can. Several jobs, side gigs. Some fled mobilization. I wrote a short message saying I was looking for help. And they responded. One offered to buy groceries. One girl gave me an address and said I could hang out there during the day, for free, and use the Wi-Fi. Turned out it was a hostel in Avlabari.
I'd already been kicked out of the hostel I was in. Someone from Reddit helped me pay for one night. For the next night, so I wouldn't have to move again, I asked the owner. He let me stay one more night. I offered to help around the house. He said no need.
So I don't sit still. I search, I walk, I knock on doors. Half of Tbilisi knows me by now. I walk into a hotel, ask if they have work. Turns out the guy is from Kazakhstan too. He probably wanted to check me, so he says: show me your hostel. I go, I bother the admin. Awkward. But my fellow Kazakh says: she can stay, I'll pay. The admin says: I'm expecting a big group, no space. In the end, the guy slips me 50 lari.
Back to searching. Someone sent me money on PayPal. Thanks, dude. But I can't withdraw it no card yet. Opening a card is a quest I don't have the energy for. So if anything, don't send more there.
I order a taxi to Avlabari, to the hostel where supposedly you can hang out and surf the internet for free. And just so you understand: everything I own fits in one sedan. But for some reason, the taxi drivers I called didn't want to take one person and their stuff to the next neighborhood. First one refuses. Second. Third. A Tesla showed up. I ordered comfort, maybe they're more agreeable, especially since the price dropped. In the end, a Tesla drove me. I don't even know how it opens. The driver was decent. But he didn't take me all the way, so I had to carry my bags. Uphill. And I did it.
I arrive at the hostel, walk into the female room, settle in. I meet the owner. He listens to my story and says: let me help you, I'll give you 2–3 free nights here, but downstairs. I move down and see: 16 men. A basement. High humidity. I'm furious. I say: no, I'll pay for this night, but I'm staying upstairs. And the guy who wrote that he'd help with groceries turns out to work there as a part-time admin, and he gives me 25 lari.
So I pay 28 lari. The owner tried to charge 35. I said: on Booking it's 28, I'll pay 28. Later I found out if you come off the street without Booking, he rents it for 25. A real entrepreneur. And now everyone knows me as the broke girl.
I sit down and find a leaflet for an organization that helps with food. Without a second thought, I go through all the circles of hell filling out the form and all the small print. And voila: today I got a decent haul. Mostly grains. No vegetables or fruit. But my body is grateful even for this.
So it wasn't for nothing that I came to that hostel where supposedly you can sit and surf the internet for free. And yes, I left the next day. Moved somewhere cheaper.
Has anyone else here been through something like this in Tbilisi? Hostels, landlords, taxi drivers, the whole circus? Sometimes I feel like I could write a book. If you've got a story drop it in the comments. Would be good to know I'm not the only one.
