Internet/ISP Government is disturbing NCELL 5g.
Ncell will complete 25 years in 2086 and after that either it needs to make majority shareholders from Nepal or else it will will be acquired by gov for free.
Ncell was ready to dilute shares and make investments but this gov removed that provision completely. Now, Ncell is sure to get hostile take overed by this gov.
This is really bad because Ncell will not invest in 5g for just to become gov owned.
And there will be no competition in the telecom sector.
And, who will investt in Nepal with this stupid telecom sector policy. No country has this kind of stupid policy.
Gov should change the law. there should be liscence based arrangement for telecom companies. Like 10 or 15 years, and they will have to pay massive amount in renewal fee. This is how major countries operate telecom sector.
Nepal Telecom already has very poor plans and network. This is really sad.

The US model isn't working either. And changing the rules now is just a handout to the current owners. It needs long term vision and planning, not just randomly picking winners.

Ncell signed the 25 year contract fully knowing the assets would go to the government at the end. Giving them a free pass makes zero sense and hydropower projects use the exact same BOOT model. If the government bends the rules for ncell every hydro company will ask for the same exception.
