Internet - Cable Charged for Returned Hardware- Don't Get Teksavvy!

I had a feeling this would happen. Changed my service two months ago as Teksavvy and I couldn't find a competitive rate compared to other services in the area.

I packaged the modem for return with the provided power cable in a firm cardboard box with crushed up paper towels surrounding it for extra security. I included the packing slip in the box, as well as laminated and taped to the front and back. The packing slip was provided by Teksavvy, and I shipped it immediately after getting the shipping information. Dropped off the box at the pickup point, watched the clerk scan it, and then confirmed on the tracker that it was sent.

A few days later, the tracker confirms that it was delivered to Teksavvy.

Then, Teksavvy sends me an email threatening to charge me double the cost of this ancient modem if I didn't return it. I email them, show them
the tracking receipt, and they agree it was received and that they'd remove the charge from my account.

Then another month later, I get an email with ANOTHER invoice for this modem, with threats of overdue fines.

I just knew they were going to try to "punish" people who switch. And I would have been happy to stay, but charging $25 dollars a month more for a slower service on a worse modem is just not something I could logically keep doing.

Internet - Cable How do I turn off band splitting?

• Upvotes

I changed from Bell in July. So far my internet is the same speed as Bell, but costing me far less.

I have been having intermittent issues with certain devices in my house, mainly wireless speakers and outdoor security cameras. They refuse to connect to the wifi, despite everything else connecting fine. No issues with streaming either.

I got fed up with my cameras not working and contacted the company for support. They’re telling me that my ISP uses band splitting and my camera needs a 2.4ghz network.

How do I do this? I have the Hitron modem.
