15-35 conference record under Locksley lol.

And he's only won 2 games in his coaching career against ranked opponents (with 1 win being a bowl game, which are a little hard to evaluate given how many people sit out). So his career record against ranked opponents, excluding bowl games is 1-25......

I agree, but so much of it is situational and I feel like Locksley's coaching has really impacted him. I feel like he's probably thinking he needs to be superman out there because the defense is terrible and they don't have a functioning offense. He's trying to do so much and teams are focused in on stopping him, so he's not playing well and it's become mental. I feel sorry for him; he committed to staying local when he could have probably gone somewhere else and now he's really just another CFB player and nothing special.

The offense was by far worse than the defense man come on. 3 points in the first half puts a pot of pressure on the squad. The defense atleast forced 2 turnovers while malik threw two pick sixes and the offense had 5 turnovers.
Defense gave up 20 points in 3 quarters offense gave up 14 and scored 3.

Yeah, that's a good point. It's the snowball effect. When the defense has to stay out on the field for so long because of how bad the offense is, you can't really judge them too hard. I mentioned the defense because the huge runs and pass plays, especially in the second half were on my mind (recency bias), but you are right, that it was 0-0 after the 1st qtr, and the defense started to crumble because they were getting no rest. I agree with you that offense is more of an issue at this point.

Locks just needs a little more time. However, that time should be spent in retirement…

I hate this program. Locks has poisoned it. Terrible coaching, playcalling, and the team has no spine. Coaching staff is a bunch of losers.

This is kind of ridiculous. I'm almost embarrassed to be watching this in a bar.
I get that Maryland football has not historically had a strong record of success, but the recipe for improvement is simple. Hire a good name head coach. Then increase NiL money and let him buy some good players. Then we win.
The low salary we pay head coaches is part of the problem.

Do we have the worst punter in college football? Not familiar with his game, but it’s dogshit.

Are there any betting odds on when locksley gets fired?

u/TraditionalBottle884 Class of 1997-2005 21d ago
Should have happened a while ago, so I have no faith that they are actually going to fire him any time soon.

Was wondering when the defense was going to cough up a big play.
Meanwhile BC is doing a pretty good job of stopping a Virginia Tech offense the Terps had no answers for last week, in case we thought that the issue was just that VT was really good.
