When Elon first mentioned cold gas thrusters and short hops all those years ago, i was sure it was maybe going to be a foot in the air, sustained for maybe a second. Then it fucking hopped 20 feet in the air, did a fucking flip, and landed itself gently. Holy fucking shit.

I had to rewatch the demo 5 times then watch 22 different povs from the audience before I accepted the fact that this actually happened and in front of a live audience. Still the videos looked faked to me even tho I know it was real lol

I saw the video on the accelerate sub which is a heavily pro-AI subreddit. I just thought it was an AI video. Then I saw it on the news shortly afterwards.

Regardless of the word choice, my position was that it would not leave the ground and the thrusters would be for acceleration only.

Car suctions itself to the ramp upside down, drives straight off, does a barrel roll and lands gently using cold gas thrusters. Then it jumps and leaps over multiple vehicles doing a kickflip at the same time. Then it goes 0-60 in 0.81 seconds.

Do you know if the car that did all that was a production representative vehicle? Hasn’t been confirmed as far as I know so it could have been a shell.

I mean they're clearly marketing all off those things as features that are almost certainly not gona be on the final car while taking preorders. Just like how they made a ton off cost cuting changes to the cybertruch while almost doubling the starting price promised at the reveal.

These is just blatant false advertising again.

Crazy CRAZY tech for sure. Those engineers are something else. That being said, it was more like falling with style :) nah I’m kidding, it was freaking flying. I don’t even know what’s real right now, up is down, cats and dogs sleeping together, etc

Honestly question did we see any video of or journalist poking around the vehicle to see if this is a real vehicle with real interior, suspension, crash structure ect. and not just an insanely cool practical effects show car?
