This just proves that literally no one likes Paxton. Elon Musk is his only supporter.

u/zombiepete 5h ago
Sadly but unsurprisingly, a group of Texas pastors got together to endorse Paxton. He is not the only shit-eating Christian hypocrite in this state.

We can’t downplay the support he has and the votes he is going to get like this. Keep pushing blue and get to the polls early everybody.

u/rey_mantequilla 8h ago
Every paxton ad I've received is just an attack ad calling talarico weird lol. Paxton has zero positives to campaign on

Does he have fetal alcohol syndrome?

He looks weird because he had a pretty severe eye injury as a kid (in California, where he grew up) and then got elbowed badly (broke orbital bone etc) in a sports game in college. There’s plenty of better, legitimate ways to jab him imo.

There some that do unfortunately. I have spotted a few Ken signs in my small town. Old Texas are so scared of James and democrats 🤦♂️

At least ONE of them has the guts to make a statement.

Her actions are pretty progressive even though she claims to be an independent. Looks like she endorsed Kamala In the last election.

Great, but fuck all money in politics.

u/shponglespore expat 11h ago
Fuck all concentration of wealth. I've seen no evidence so far that money can be kept out of politics when there are individuals with billions of dollars to spend on it.

She was always the more liberal one, even when the girls were younger. Takes after her mother.

Just as George W was in Dallas rallying for Republicans.

u/gringottsbanker 11h ago
I thought GW has kept out of politics for awhile now. What changed?
7
u/diegojones4 11h ago
He is still remotely involved. /u/MotormaidofJapan is confusing supporting actual republicans with maga
11
u/Temporary-Outside-13 11h ago
I know people don’t like hearing this, but they are kind of the synonymous after three presidential elections.. On top of no viable ‘republicans’ in power stepping up to challenge Trump.
3
u/MotormaidofJapan 11h ago
Anyone with a brain who grew up republican knows this.

Not really. All politicians only want to get re-elected. MAGA is the trend. And it will pass.
In the public eye, yes they are considered the same. But maga has been opposed by many officials in power.

I’ll take some names if you got’em…

Well you have the old school like both Bushes, Cheney, Rove, McCain
Here is an AI generated list:
Senate
House
- Lisa Murkowski
- Susan Collins
- Rand Paul
- Thom Tillis
- Bill Cassidy
- Mitch McConnell
- John Curtis
- Thomas Massie
- Brian Fitzpatrick
- Warren Davidson
- Tom Barrett
- Zach Nunn
- Mariannette Miller-Meeks
- David Valadao
- Dan Newhouse

u/Temporary-Outside-13 8h ago
The old school doesn’t have influence of the party at all.
The people you have chosen all voted for legislation that have the US in the mess we are in both economically and war/international. I’m sorry, you may not want to be lumped into the maga folk, but it just is.
Recommend look at the list of folks voting record to stop the war started by Trump, tariffs, etc.

u/diegojones4 8h ago edited 7h ago
That was not your original request.
Tariffs: Lisa Murkowski
Susan Collins
Mitch McConnell
Rand Paul
Thom Tillis
Iran war:Thomas Massie — Kentucky
Brian Fitzpatrick — Pennsylvania
Warren Davidson — Ohio
Tom Barrett — Michigan
Zach Nunn — Iowa
Mariannette Miller-Meeks — Iowa
Nancy Mace — South Carolina
[edit] And if you think old school doesn't matter...that is GWB was going to work out a policy with real republicans to get rid of maga
[edit 2] My desire is to in my own little way fight extremeism on both sides. Life is shades of grey. Not all of x=y not matter the issue. I don't believe all Democrats are going to tax the shit out of me and have the government pay for everything. Not all Republicans are going to go to war and remove personal rights in the name of religion.
Have a quote from Muppets take Manhatte (long live Pete)
"Hey. I tell you what is. Big city, hmm? Live. Work, huh? But. Is not city open. Only peoples. Peoples is peoples. No is buildings. Is tomatoes, huh? Is peoples, is dancing, is music, is potatoes. So, peoples is peoples. Okay?"

u/MotormaidofJapan 5h ago
Lmaoooooo they all vote for maga agenda 😂 just because they possibly said “this is concerning. I’m sure he’ll learn his lesson” doesn’t mean they’re not maga
-2
u/diegojones4 4h ago
Thing is that you are representing the liberal side of Maga. Extremisms in any form is disruptive to democracy.

I wish her father had the balls to speak up about Trump. I was very disappointed with his silence in the last presidential election.

I was confused about that too, but I looked it up. It turns out there's a younger Barbara Bush, who's one of George W. Bush's daughters and is named after her grandmother.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Bush_(born_1981)
Her grandmother (wife of George H. W. Bush) died in 2018, months before Talarico was first elected to the Texas House, so that was definitely confusing to me.

I thought he was running on no PAC money? He still has my vote because the alternative is a literal fucking criminal but it does make me mad about all of his emails I get asking for $
33
u/aprendido 12h ago
He is. His campaign does not accept money from PACs. But the PACs can still run their own ads separate from the candidates’ campaigns
-2
u/EuphoricCrashOut 9h ago
He is not. A PAC doing things on their own doesn't mean he accepts their money, jfc.
3
u/aprendido 9h ago
I didn’t say he was. I said he is with regard to running on not taking PAC money which he is not doing.

u/Forsaken-Molasses-87 12h ago
He accepted money from a super pac. A super pac can’t associate w/ candidates
7
u/EuphoricCrashOut 10h ago
Wrong. He has not accepted any donations from a PAC.

u/darkscottishloch 9h ago
Talarico has not accepted money from corporate PACs. This money is going to Lone Star Rising, a super PAC created specifically to raise money for him by a personal friend. This PAC can accept money from individuals, corporations, etc, but it cannot support his campaign directly. This is all very public. It’s easy to miss the distinction between corporate PACs and super PACs. The fact is it is going to take every damn for Talarico to (hopefully) win this year. I do not begrudge him accepting this support if it helps make Texas purple (if not blue).

This is amongst the many tells that there are a sizable group of republicans who are going to vote for Talarico or not vote at all.

She also very openly despised Trump and didn't consider herself a republican anymore the last few years of her life.

This is Barbara the second. But I bet her grandmother feels the same. Imagine your sons are Dubya and Jeb. I'd be rethinking some things.

Yeah!! Go Barbara!! The article suggests that her $2,500 donation was intentionally made directly to a PAC (instead of more discreet methods). As if to make a statement... Because someone of her political stature would know that her donation directly to a PAC would eventually become public record.
"I would imagine that somebody in such a prominent political family, if she wanted to ensure that her contribution was anonymous or not visible, that any number of lawyers that they probably have at their disposal could have told her how," said Andrew Cates, a political attorney and campaign finance expert based in central Texas. "She didn’t give it to a [501] (c)(4), in which her contribution would have been completely anonymous. She gave it to a PAC that reports all the money in and out."
