George Scholey ran it in Toronto on Oct 12, solving a freshly scrambled cube with no inspection at the start and after each of the first three laps, about 9 seconds per solve. Beat the old mark of 5:22.75 (Guinness confirmation pending).

📜History In 1913, just 7 people worked at this British factory. Its brand later created a secret children’s club with 5 MILLION members. Ovaltine, 1923.

This is the Ovaltine factory in Kings Langley, photographed in 1923 I recently went to for my YouTube channel (then and now photos). It started with just seven employees in 1913, but the really extraordinary story came later. In 1935, Ovaltine created a children’s club with secret codes, badges, special rules and its own Sunday radio broadcasts. By 1939, FIVE MILLION children had joined. The factory closed in 2002, but parts of the historic building survive today. I recently went exploring around the old site, and it’s remarkable how something that was once such a huge part of British childhood can now look like an ordinary residential development. Imagine how many people pass it without knowing any of this!
