while I think the style of the dress looks better on Dorothy (Greek goddess), the color suits Blanche better. Blanche’s colors are warm tones (autumn/spring), and Dorothy is a Winter.

Oh it’s disgraceful!

Why did Stan introduce himself whenever he came to the door?
It’s not like Dorothy or any of the other girls didn’t recognize him.
I’ve always wondered that. Does anyone know?

Besides the lip gloss and socks, these bath fizzers are the only other item I've seen recently at my four local Dollar Trees (and a few out of town). If anyone wants to join me, I get the deep end!

She said how her grandmother was 94 when Dorothy was 6 but that she decided to go into politics in the 1950s. There's a few things that don't add up. Firstly, if she was 94 when Dorothy was 6, she would've had to have been in her 60s or 70s when she had Sophia which one wouldn't be possible and also she wouldn't be alive when Sophia and Sal had her over for Mother's Day when they wanted her to move in. She also would've been WELL over her 100s in the 1950s.
I know, just another continuity error in the show but it's how the story itself sort of contradicts itself. Like 94 when Dorothy was 6 but decided to go into politics in the 50s. Pretty sure Dorothy wasn't born around that time period 😂

In the episode the psychiatrist Dr. Ashley says they are totally incompatible, and that they should save their money for the moving expenses. Do you think he truly felt that way?
I like to believe that he actually said those things to get the four girls to realize how much they loved and needed each other and to cut the bullshit.
What do you guys think?

We all have our favorite quotable lines that are very popular, for example "I'll punch your heart out, Mr. Ha Ha!", but what's your favorite less popular line? Mine is when the girls are at the nudist resort, and Dorothy mentions "Making love on top of a big fat man named Old Smokey". 🤣 That one gets me every time.

Dorothy looked amazing on Season 5. She got a perm, her hair got a bit longer. She was wearing stylish clothes. Bea Arthur has never looked more beautiful. And yet, the following season, she went back to looking like a "English Lawyer". I read producers thought Bea was too pretty and they needed her to go back to looking plain because so much of the jokes about Dorothy were about how ugly and manly she was and you can't do that when Dorothy looks so stunning.
No wonder Bea Arthur wanted to leave. Back then, a lot of comedy was about making fun of the looks of olde women. Murphy Brown did that a lot in the first seasons.

I'm a new viewer, so no spoilers or anything about what's going to happen later on,
I’m only in early Season 2 of The Golden Girls, and so far, my favorite characters are Dorothy and Rose. I also really enjoy Sophia and Blanche, but Dorothy and Rose are the two I connect with the most. Dorothy’s sarcasm cracks me up, and Rose’s sweetness and sincerity make her scenes some of my favorites.
But something keeps standing out to me: every time Rose opens her mouth and starts talking about her childhood or St. Olaf, the others immediately snark at her, roll their eyes, or make some kind of belittling comment. I get that it’s part of the humor, but sometimes it feels like they’re genuinely annoyed by her or treating her like she’s stupid.
Since I’m still early in the series, I’m wondering — do the others actually want Rose around? Do they genuinely like her as a friend, or is she more of the “punching bag” of the group? I’m curious how this dynamic evolves as the show goes on, because right now it feels like Rose is constantly getting piled on whenever she tries to share something about her life.
Does this change later? Do they show more affection toward her? Or is this teasing just part of the group’s dynamic and not meant to be taken as them disliking her?

Sophia often uses the word 'Yutz' to describe Stan, which to me sounds Yiddish rather than Italian American. But I accepted that Sophia spent most of her life in New York where it's multicultural and she may have picked it up. But when Angelo comes to Florida from Sicily for Stan and Dorothy's 'wedding anniversary" he too calls Stan a Yutz. So what I am asking in my long winded way is, is Yutz an Italian-American word?

I was tuning in to Hallmark tonight and Golden Girls helps my overnight hotel shift go by quickly. However they start Christmas movies AGAIN! It was bad enough in the Summer. Now already in the middle of October. They SOMETIMES play on TV land, but it is super random and not consistent. Also on Hallmark they are overly censored and take out all the art and good humor out of things.
