Why did Jub’s son, Blake, go back to the high-school ranks?

Heard Jub mention that he was back at Westlake but didn’t say why? Did he just miss high school coaching? Seemed like a really short stint only 1 season maybe? Thanks and Queef.

I think Jub referenced the work hours of college were way more than he was willing to do.

HS coaches easily work 80 hr weeks. Can't imagine college, not to mention how lots of the job is recruiting so you're traveling around trying to inflate a 17 year old's ego.

Westlake is a good gig too. Perennial power and a nice place to live.

Once knew a guy that coached at the college level. He took a job as a HS assistant after a couple years. He said more money and less time.

He was a special teams coach for a FCS school in Houston

His other 3 siblings live in Austin so I imagine he was lonely and overworked with little return

Surprised they didn’t hire a replacement at westlake or maybe they fired him after one year

If you’re just doing it for the love and not the money, then high school is much better

His other 2 siblings unless George has a love child we aren't aware of 😄

I think HS coaches some sort of an offseason. Can’t imagine the schedules kept by college coaches
