Fun Post The Walking Dead s9 ep5 Spoiler
In the episode titled “What Comes After” (s9 ep5) Rick gets thrown off his horse and impaled by the rebar. He passes out and this scene appears where Rick is standing over his s1 ep1 coma body saying “wake up”.
I feel like this is one of the biggest missed opportunities in the series. Imagine if it was Shane taunting him or pushing him to get up and keep fighting saying “Lori and Carl need you” and he pauses for a second, because Carl is dead now, Shane could keep taunting him saying “I was the better man, the better father and he would’ve still been alive hadn’t you shown up” and then Rick opens his eyes and then wakes up in real life. I feel like that could’ve been a cool alternative scene

Fwiw, the showrunner during this season did say she explicitly chose not to include Carl and Lori in this episode. Iirc, her reasoning was that if they included them Rick wouldn’t fight so hard to live versus fighting to survive for the family he still had alive

I can see that, he wouldn’t fight as hard and might’ve wanted to just go be with Carl and Lori. But maybe before that scene ends Shane could also say Judith needs you and charges towards the bed saying it’s his kid and that triggers the wake up. I know Shane and Rick have a scene in the same episode talking about Judith but I feel like that scenario could go against the showrunner and that Rick still had Judith and everyone he cared for

Those are solid mine would be 1. Glenn 2. Abraham and 3. Negan. I hate the things Negan did I loved the acting and redemption arc
