PC Magazine #2, May 1987 Olivier Legan's cover story illustration for the article titled "Who Wants the Head of The 5.25 Inch?" The artwork symbolized the computer industry's format war transition as newer microfloppies began replacing older disks.

ESP32 E-Paper that runs GameBoy at 30fps by Bo Made It (youtube)

The story has also made it's way to the register.

After noticing e-ink left behind greyscale artifacts when experimenting with refresh method, he was able to write his own driver to create greyscale levels as well as comfortably refresh at 30fps ; considering the original driver could only refresh every 300ms.

Pretty stunning piece of work.

[edit] I'm a numpty. Thank you those who supplemented this low-tier submission with the actual link: https://youtu.be/XiZmM6hwwAU ... computering is hard.

ZED-Next Emulator is now live!!

Post image
5 Upvotes

For the past three months, I’ve been using Claude AI to help me develop an emulator that supports most Sinclair computers, several clones, and the ZX Spectrum Next.

I’m really pleased with how the project has turned out, so I’ve decided to make it available to everyone for free!

I’d love to hear what you think, so please give it a try and let me know your feedback.

You’ll also find instructions on the page explaining how to obtain the ROMs (legally) for the ZX Spectrum Next.

Enjoy, and happy gaming.
