Anyone else have a cat with a mutant double claw thumb?

The top layer should shed on its own.

Yeah it sheds fine and trims fine, I’ve had him 6 years now. Just wondering if he’s the only lil mutant thumb boy out there!

Ohhh, I need my glasses. Now I see the side-by-side nails. What a unique lil Mister! I love it!

My cat also has 2 fully separate thumbs on one paw, and the other has a fused claw like how yours looks. I usually say she has 3.5 thumbs or just "too many thumbs" because her paws are too big tuck well enough for proper loaf form

My polydactyl has a double claw on one of her paws — it’s not on the thumb like yours but looks the same.
It doesn’t cause any problems like curling back into the pad or anything, but it’s harder for her to sharpen (and will get fibers stuck in it sometimes when she tries), so I just pay extra attention when I give her a trim.

Yes! My cat has the same double dew claw on her paws. Her mom and sister were both polydactyls so I guess hers just never fully split

Old cat of mine had exactly this on one paw.
Vet said it was nothing to worry about, and my cat never seemed to have any issue with that.
From what I knew, she had no polydactyl ancestry.

Yes! My girl has what I call "secret thumbs" between her main paws and big thumbs. I gotta be sure to get in there and trim them every few weeks because if I don't, she'll get them caught in the carpet.

Yea I do this too so it doesn’t get caught on anything but her paws look like mittens and the extra thumb is right beside the other one! Jiinxie the polydactyl!

My cat has a double claw on both of his back feet and a mini claw in-between one of his ploy paws on the front that's really hard to get at to trim.

I've got 3 polydactyl! They are siblings. I guess they got it from whoever their dad is cuz mom isn't. The oldest has the craziest amount of toes. I have to get his cut professionally because he wiggles too much and I don't want to hurt him.

My polydactyl has one extra toe with a normal fully developed claw and one little claw-stump thing. It looks like an extra claw almost grew there.

I had a polydactyl cat who gave birth to four kittens. We kept two of them. One had just double claws like yours does.
