why do I have to be my own personal lawyer at EVERY DOCTOR AND DENTIST?

I’m on CDCP and need a crown. Apparently, this often gets rejected. Ok cool no biggie. The receptionist at my dentist office books me in.

2 months later the appt approaches, they call me to confirm, suddenly they’re like “Omg you don’t have the pre authorization submitted? that takes at least 3 weeks to submit. We have to submit it now. Sorry no one told us. We will postpone the appt” BRO ITS LITERALLY YOUR JOB AS THE DENTIST RECEPTIONIST TO KNOW THIS? Whatever. They submit it.

After this I’m on high alert so I research the fuck out of this. Googling “most common reasons for crown pre authorization rejection CDCP” (literally basic critical thinking skills are all that’s required to do this.)

It says a common reason is “periodontal charging over 1 year old.” It needs to be dated within 12 months. My last one was done OVER 12 MONTHS AGO, so I already know it’s gonna get rejected. Whatever. I’ll wait for them to call me and schedule the new charting, and then they’ll run it again.

And here was my mistake, I assumed these people had SOME knowledge of their ENTIRE PROFESSION.

They call me and tell me: “So sorry it got rejected, we don’t know why. We reccomend just submitting it again, maybe someone else will review the claim and approve it this time.”

(Ignoring this idiotic answer), I say: “Oh what about my periodontal charting? I need a new one, it says my last one was more than 1 year ago, they need it within 1 year.” THE RECEPTIONIST DISAGREES WITH ME. I ask her to ask the dentist. SHE ASKS THE DENTIST AND HE ALSO DISAGREES WITH ME.

The kicker: They reccomend “I call CDCP for more clarity.” BRO IM NOT GONNA CALL THEM AND ASK THEM A QUESTION THATS ANSWERED ON THEIR WEBSITE. ITS THERE IN BLACK AND WHITE

I expect this shit from a car dealership refusing to honour a warranty or something. But this is just idiotic level customer service - how do you NOT know how your own profession works? I understand CDCP is “new” but maybe SOMEONE could spend 30 seconds googling this periodically, considering it’s their JOB?

Don’t even get me started on the doctor. I’ve looked up my diagnosis and medications that treat it before I even step foot in there, lest they tell me to just ignore the symptom and come back in a month if it’s still there.

Anyways I’ve sent the dentist an email linking the government website where it says the requirements about the charting. They better apologize to me. I can’t believe I’m paying people for this service

Update: they admitted they were wrong LOL

Has anyone actually realized how powerless we are?

Under canadian constitution, every municipality is considered a "creature of the province."

this means that the province literally has full control over us. They can just veto every idea of infrastructure we have. Everyone looks at Mamdani and is like "we need someone like him" but if he were mayor he wouldn't be able to do shit. Toronto is at a loss of $1B-1.6B PER YEAR. Mamdani's idea's would just get immediately screwed over by lord ford. we would need Mamdani to be premier of ontario for the same amount of power.

Voting for a mayor is incredibly cooked because lord ford will just do what he wants with us like we're puppets.

Atp i'd rather just move to vancouver. doesn't fix the system but at least vancouver isn't getting cooked by ford

Woman on Bathurst bus verbally harassing driver. Driver stops the bus in the middle of rush hour

Honestly I don't complain about much and haven't posted here before. But this woman pissed me off.

This happened October 14th, around 6:20 pm on the 7 Bathurst heading north. At the Bathurst and St Clair stop, this woman (55-60 ish years old, long grey hair in high ponytail, black t-shirt, green pants) was waiting to board the bus. She had a shopping buggy with her but could walk just fine. The bus pulled up, only a few inches from the curb. She wanted the bus to move closer to the curb (not the ramp). The driver said no...idk if he said that because it wasn't possible to move it any closer, because of her tone, or what. The woman became more aggressive, yelling for him to move the bus closer and the driver kept saying no. Then another passenger had enough and took the woman's shopping buggy and put it on the bus for her.

This is where it got crazy. The woman got on the bus and started yelling and swearing at the driver NON STOP, saying she was going to report him, etc (which I'm sure she did because she took out a fucking pen and paper to write this all down). The driver attempted to kick her off the bus and told us he wasn't going to drive until the woman got off. He was like "I could sit here all day," then she replied "me too." She literally refused to leave and kept yelling at him. She made this poor child cry. Meanwhile everyone else is leaving the bus and saying fuck you to this lady.

I was able to run and catch the Spadina bus just a couple mins away fortunately but the next 7 bus would've taken over 10 mins to come in the middle of rush hour. What the hell man.

Way too many people picking fights with strangers today.

Seriously, I know stuff is hard for everyone right now, but my people: I assure you picking one with random people while crossing the street, at the Canadian Tire, getting library books, or on the sidewalk is not going to solve that problem.

Special shoutout to the guy who decided to lose his shit on a driver in the middle of the road with his ten-year-old son trailing after him, and then tried to convince me that "it's fun to yell at people" while his kid stared and I repeatedly tried to make clear that no, I was not actually in this little melodrama, move along thanks. A+ parenting/humaning, bud.
