Tricky last night in Atlanta

Only a tiny clip, but it was an excellent show. The music sounds exactly like the records, just with some extra. Marta and Mitch both sounded amazing. Some people complain because Tricky doesn't talk to the audience between songs beyond thanking us many times, but I don't think that matters. He's a musician, not a public speaker. Personally I hate when I go to a concert and half the time is someone rambling on instead of playing the music.

We actually got to meet Tricky a couple hours before the show when we were walking to dinner from our hotel and he was sitting outside The Loft venue smoking. He had just finished a phone call and was about to make another, plus I didn't want to be too intrusive, so we didn't talk long but he was super nice and appreciative. We also saw Marta, but she didn't respond. If Mitch was out there, we didn't see or recognize him.

It was fucking phenomenal. High school me exploded into a million stars. One of the best shows of my life, even.

I didn't know he was still making music and haven't heard anything since the 90s. I'm really looking forward to getting all the new stuff.

I scratched my poster on the way home though, if anyone out there happened to buy two or decides they don't want theirs!

If you haven't heard anything since the '90s, you're missing a lot of good stuff. I would even say his best.

I think he's only doing a few shows in the states and has only one or two others left after the Atlanta one. Unfortunately, he's just not well known enough in the US, especially 20-30 years after his most known stuff.

It was outstanding! The Loft is basically a night club so it was really cool to see him in such an up-close environment.

lol Sorry. FYI, there's a website where you can sign up to get an email when bands on a list you create are touring. My wife did it for me so I don't recall the name, but I'm sure the Google Machine will know.
