How did we all go with Powderfinger tickets?

Our group managed to snag 7 GA for Sat 23rd in Melbourne with 3 people trying ($233 each!?) starting at ~2000 in the queue. Price surprised us a bit, thought it was ~$140 but oh well...

How did the rest of you go? Also curious about how much the pit costs, assuming it was the $500 option?

Edit: They added 2 new shows for Mon/Wed in between the other shows using the same presale link, get on it!!

$233 for an Aussie act? Who do these guy they are, Radiohead?

38

u/Sweet-Albatross6218 4d ago

Radiohead was only $199.00

15

u/disregulatedcactus 4d ago

Nostalgia pays. Clear cut cash grab. It works so I can’t blame them.

7

u/i_dreddit 4d ago

I can only imagine the amount of merch they are going to sling in the coming year via their sign up process.. retirement looming

3

u/nugstar 4d ago

#1 reason i unsubscribed from their mailing list after getting presale links and seeing ticket prices

7

u/unsafe-work 4d ago

Ah well. They haven't played for 16 years + Nostalgia. I'm looking forward to it.

3

u/bassplayerdude 3d ago

I'd only pay that much for a Silverchair reunion

5

u/unsafe-work 3d ago

I'd pay more for a Silverchair reunion.

9

u/EmotionalJellyfish31 4d ago

I know right. I told my friends I will not pay more than a festival price to go and see Powderfinger. Got the cheaper tickets.

7

u/mrinsane19 4d ago

Literally got radiohead tickets cheaper, though we're flying to melb for it sooo... 🤣

I only saw the "front" GA prices at $233, back GA was sold out before I could get into the sale so idk what that was, obviously cheaper since it sold first 🤣

Honestly not worth it.

2

u/Existing_Dream_9280 4d ago

Back GA was $180ish

3

u/ThatOldGuyWhoDrinks 4d ago

Considering how many they sold there's obviously demand

2

u/northcoteplaza 4d ago

funny you say that. I always thought of Internationalist as Australia’s answer to The Bends

28

u/HonkyTonkswoman 4d ago

To the commenter on here who tipped RE the new Brisbane show drop, you are why I now have tickets and may your beers always be crisp as hell and your pillow chilled.

5

u/EdwardBlizzardhands 3d ago

I blame them for me being $900 out of pocket instead of being able to say to the family "Sorry guys, I tried, but missed out".

1

u/HonkyTonkswoman 3d ago

Accurate 😂😂

22

u/speorgenote 4d ago

No dice. Not even single tickets apparently. Didn't realise had to join 7 different queues to check tickets for every show.

8

u/mc_twinkles 4d ago

same, usually once you’re in you can check between different dates, first time coming across this and not happy jan

2

u/faaarmer 4d ago

It’s frustrating but thankfully they mentioned it on the waiting room page.

3

u/mc_twinkles 4d ago

ah well I must have missed that, all good though I got some with the added dates

19

u/AtrophiedWives 4d ago

Complete joke, was sub-2000 in the waiting room for both Adelaide shows. Sold out once I got to the maps.
Everyone else I know is in the same boat, should have been able to get them but just not available.

9

u/Fearless_Promotion74 3d ago

Yep, same here. I'm guessing they only released a small number of tickets. Hopefully better luck on Monday.

7

u/sandyrover 4d ago

Same here. I clicked the map then they were gone at checkout

4

u/FireballMudflap92 3d ago

Yeah I was 3000th for Adelaide and there was nothing available as soon as I got in. Not sure how that’s even possible??

1

u/bobothahobo1 3d ago

You could buy up to 8 tickets.

18

u/Rough_Run8975 4d ago

No good. All gone within 10 min on all four Melbourne dates. I was about 4500 in queue at the start

3

u/findtheskyline 4d ago

Same here!

3

u/blinking_lights 4d ago

Same happened to me for Adelaide. Kept selecting and then it wouldn’t go through because the tickets were gone.

u/Lolaaluu 4d ago

$509.61 for the pit at the melbourne shows...

46

u/nugstar 4d ago

Gonna be the shittest pit in the world. a bunch of cashed up gen xers with bad knees, or nepo babies who don't know how to dance.

11

u/23DeAbril 4d ago

I am a diehard PF and I would not subject myself to that.

12

u/Lolaaluu 4d ago

Yeah I wouldnt pay that much for pit tickets. Thats an obscene price for a band that have past their prime

5

u/paulybaggins 4d ago

Is that per ticket?!

42

u/xtcprty 4d ago

$223 is crazy.. $500 for a pit is obscene I get nostalgia but if your paying that your the problem.

20

u/leighroyv2 4d ago

Im sorry 500 for Powderfinger??????

3

u/Certain-Attempt1330 4d ago

Is that $500 for front GA? or dedicated pit area. either way that is steeeeeep

3

u/mrinsane19 4d ago

Dedicated pit for $500. $233 for GA but I guess not actual front row. Some cities have a rear GA for $180.

1

u/Certain-Attempt1330 4d ago

yeah I am in bris and got front GA for 234. I feel like I need a shower after spending that kind of coin on a ticket lol. I think tame was a similar price point for the floor, and my baulking at the cost at the time is now overrriden by excellent memories.

4

u/mrinsane19 4d ago

Hahaha definitely. I enjoy PF but just not quite that much if you know what I mean 🤣 hope you enjoy the show!

3

u/DrBongo 4d ago

Pit = VIP, about typical. Also, I expect a lot of support bands.

5

u/leighroyv2 3d ago

I would expect french bubbles on arrival and a lock of Bernard's hair.

3

u/Certain-Attempt1330 4d ago

yeah that is what I was thinking / hoping

2

u/twobit78 4d ago

Being in the put for nostalgia is just asking for problems.

How the hell am I meant to enjoy myself knowing my back and knees will remind me for the jext month.

10

u/Natural_Mongoose_929 4d ago

Luckily I have seen them a few times for like $5 .. and probably when they were in their prime. Today’s prices .. it’s a no from me.

11

u/ironchefdonichi 3d ago

allowing the ticket limit to be eight per person was a massive mistake. 4 is generous enough. Brissie was SOLD out so quick

1

u/Easy_Ad6617 3d ago

I agree but there will people with surplus tickets so get on Tixel waitlist

1

u/FivePickles428 1d ago

Yep absolute bs. All the waiting rooms I was in were less than 1700. Missed out for Bris and Adl. Should be capped at 4 so everyone has a fckn chance at getting something.

18

u/-bigSALAD- 4d ago

Fucking $233 each?!?!

I thought $140 was bad ffs

→ More replies (9)

9

u/disregulatedcactus 4d ago

Hard pass. Not paying that much.

7

u/Boss_unicycle-560 4d ago

Landed 200 in the queue for a Brisbane show.

Might buy a lotto ticket

4

u/Muted_Tip1104 4d ago

Same, I had 584 ahead of me and my mate had 100,000 in front of him

3

u/mrinsane19 4d ago

I only had 5k in front but it was still sold out lmao

1

u/AJay_yay 2d ago

1000 in front of me for melb, nothing by the time i got to the page to buy

1

u/Boss_unicycle-560 4d ago

No idea how it works but I’m not complaining

12

u/PrivateEye_85 4d ago

It’s only the presale allocation that’s sold out FYI, they don’t put every ticket into them so you’ll have other chances including general release.

3

u/Successful-Bear-3683 4d ago

Lets hope there is more for general sale, sometimes they do all go in presale

5

u/PrivateEye_85 4d ago

There’s also the promotor sale on Friday and there’s no way Live Nation haven’t held some back for that. Easy to sign up to as well.

1

u/Successful-Bear-3683 4d ago

I hope there is another chance at tickets. I got rear standing and cant be bothered standing for that long.

2

u/speorgenote 4d ago

I think some of the issue is their core fan base would be 40+ years old. Nobody wants to pay $233 to stand up for hours in a tent. The bulk of their shows are at 5pm on a weekday when everybody's been at work all day. People want seats, but there's fuck all seating. And who knows how many seats they actually allocated for today, how many are allocated for Friday and how many will be available come Monday.

14

u/mc_twinkles 4d ago

if this was the issue there’d be GA tix left, not the first to go on all the shows I checked

8

u/PrivateEye_85 4d ago

I’m 40+ and have no desire to sit for any concert so hopefully that makes it easier to get Saturday night in Perth. But I take your point in general. Just saying that the sky isn’t falling and there will be more chances to buy seated tickets, whatever the amount.

1

u/Rinrob7468 3d ago

51f here & same, would have been happy to stand, if only I could have got tickets, boo.

4

u/yibbida 4d ago

Most gigs are on Friday and Saturday night...

1

u/speorgenote 4d ago

In Melbourne there's two Sat shows, the others are Mon, Wed, Fri at 5pm. I have never in my life been to a gig at 5pm on a Wednesday.

2

u/yibbida 3d ago

Have you ever been to a gig where the headline act starts at the earliest time shown for the event?

I expect they will have a couple of support acts, with gates opening at 5pm.

1

u/GoldBricked 3d ago

That’s just doors, they won’t be on til probs 8:30

2

u/69-is-my-number 3d ago

Yeah, opening support will be 6:30, main support 7:15 and Powderfinger 8:30.

5

u/PrivateEye_85 3d ago

Nothing left for Perth in the artist presale and I was 3000 or so in the queue, massive demand even at those prices.

5

u/Sirav33 3d ago

Same for me. 4000 odd in queue for sat show in Perth, no go. Then was 1600 in queue for the new Perth show and again, locked out. Seriously.

Having tickets for GA constantly in my cart only to over and over be told they are no longer available is a joke.

Worst presale experience I've ever had.

3

u/PrivateEye_85 3d ago

Scratch that, I kept refreshing and got two front GA for Saturday. Perfect.

1

u/ctwe342 3d ago

Wow really? That's crazy i was like 1200 in the queue and had no issue how much capacity is that standing area that not even 2000 more can get a ticket? That's nuts.

2

u/PrivateEye_85 3d ago

It’s only the first presale, they don’t put all tickets into it. But yeah, nostalgia sells.

6

u/ausgigsfan 3d ago

I found it worked pretty well- the hint was on the ticketmaster event page, it said you could have a tab for each date. So being in four waiting rooms at once helped, just choose whatever you were first in line for

7

u/wombatpickle 3d ago

Oh my gosh, how did I miss that! I thought if you had multiple open you would get kicked out of the queue. Got to the front 4 seperate times then all sold out, one after I had it in my cart.

2

u/ausgigsfan 3d ago

It was hiding on the ticketmaster page. I only came across it yesterday! Hopefully it can help with the general public sales

3

u/PrivateEye_85 3d ago

This is the way

2

u/Haymanator85 3d ago

Oh what! When I was logged in to sit in one queue, there was a generic message about "only use one device at a time or you might be logged out" so I just didn't want to risk additional tabs for additional shows. That's such a bummer.

Doesn't matter, I was almost front of the line the moment the update popped up on the app "only limited VIP and pit tickets remaining, new show announced, click here to join the queue". Got myself some seated tickets for the additional show.

It was pretty crazy seeing everything sell out so fast.

4

u/thetoxichorizon 4d ago

Managed to snag 4 for the first Brizzy show, expensive tickets but ive spent more money on things that won't make me nearly this happy.

5

u/Responsible_Ear_4791 4d ago

Terrible. Was in three queues for three different sydney dates. 5000-7000 in line. Got through to buy but by the time I clicked add tix all sold out 😢😢😢

→ More replies (2)

5

u/TheRamblingPeacock 3d ago

Nah sorry but at $300+ I’m not bothering. I loved them back in the day, but that sort of money gets me an entire day at Good Things.

12

u/Sorry-Report-881 4d ago

i got in easy enough but i'm not buying GA at $233 each . I paid that for laneway and that's with about half a dozen artist i'm dying to see. I'm sure they will all sell out though

5

u/jessicait93 4d ago

Il be buying for Perth, interested to know what other venues with rear GA option how much those tickets are?

3

u/PrivateEye_85 4d ago

Brisbane is $182.45 for Rear GA so presumably Perth will be the same.

5

u/Prize-Ad-8020 4d ago

8 - GA Telstra Presale, Sat, Oct 23 . 2 sets of Gen X parents and kids. I’m praying for good weather .

4

u/Retro8 4d ago

All states are under a big top, I believe.

1

u/Sprinkles--Positive 3d ago

Can't get much colder, wetter or muddier than Sunsets in Bendigo and Ballarat. On the other hand, a stinking hot day (not unheard of at that time of year) would be worse.

1

u/nowfarcough 3d ago

this is what i'm afraid of in brisbane. 50 years living hear and the heat and humidity still sucks

4

u/Hydrogoose 4d ago

No luck, was waiting in queue at about 5 mins to 10, when it went live there were 8000 people in front of me

4

u/paulybaggins 4d ago

Your sales are already open? Different timezones for QLD vs southern states?

4

u/eldubinoz 4d ago

Brisbane went on sale 20 mins ago. Cairns an hour later. Times are in the email.

2

u/-D-e-e- 4d ago

Melbourne went on sale at 10am Melbourne time which is currently DST (=9am EST)

Brisbane went on sale at 10am Brisbane time which is EST (=11am DST)

4

u/MingoStarr45 4d ago

Melbourne Accessible bookings were a nightmare...

4

u/CloudyBourbon23 4d ago

Did all the waiting in queue and got to end of line in first 5mins and kept blocker my browser and I had no vpn, extensions, blockers, on data....FML

4

u/Marg_Reddit 3d ago

To the deadset legend here that suggested Telstra presale were still available a few hours ago. My happiness is thanks to you! I managed to find my husband's old telstra account details and just got tickets for Melbourne and some Sydney tickets for a friend.

2

u/Budget-Leg-453 3d ago

Seconding this! I saw this comment after my partner wasted half the day. But now we have tickets for Melbourne!

3

u/Specialist-Strain-46 4d ago

No problem- Telstra presale, 4 in GA the first Melb show

1

u/Most-Drive-3347 3d ago

I wasn’t even able to figure out how to access the telstra pre sale, the page on telstra plus never posted a Ticketmaster link.

1

u/Specialist-Strain-46 3d ago

There was a link on my Telstra plus page which then went in to the waiting room.

3

u/eldubinoz 4d ago

Got Brisbane tickets after being 5000 in queue - thought I'd stuffed up not realising the waiting room opened 30 mins early, I only logged on at 5:59.

Got seats up the front of section A2 on the first night in Brissy! Can’t wait!

3

u/mickeyc87 4d ago

Two more shows have been added for Brisbane. On sale at 10:30am

3

u/Melodic-Mention447 4d ago

Seemed a bit silly that every single night had its own individual queue. Was 5000 for one night, missed out. And had to get back into the queue for another night. Tried to get every single Brisbane night and had to keep getting back into a queue

3

u/relentless_geek 4d ago

got two for VIP pit in Cairns. husband has a bad back so it's either PIT with space or seats. Couldn't get Brisvegas, so off to Cairns for the weekend! :D SOOOO Excited. never go to see them live in the old days

3

u/Super_Sankey 4d ago

Front GA Standing in Brisbane for their very first show. Couldn't be happier.

I queued up at 10am on the dot with their fan code and got put in position 3000. When I got through 15 minutes later all tickets were gone.

I then loaded up the telstra plus, got straight through and landed 2 tickets.

I was too young to see them back in the day. This is gonna be sick.

3

u/Retro8 4d ago edited 4d ago

Whats the seating situation? I understand this big top set up is the same as 1 or 2 of their previous tours? Doesn't look like much seating, right?

Edit: Took a closer look at the map, looks to be 1,575 seats

3

u/Dismal-Mistake-6242 4d ago

Got 2 x rear GA in Cairns for $180 each. Not sure if it's just me but buying tickets is so complicated these days.

1

u/Accomplished_Jump800 3d ago

Same - having a nice weekend in Cairns incl this gig.

1

u/Budget-Leg-453 3d ago

Yes! Why is this all so hard? I think in retrospect the grand final ballots are more civilised.

3

u/Consistent_Goal_1613 4d ago

I ended up just tapping out once I saw the cost for standing room on a Wednesday night.

3

u/ammackk88 3d ago

Had a ticket for the Pit and couldn’t rationalise spending $515. Kind of took the wind out of my sails so $233 for GA didn’t appeal either.

Given the amount of shows, tickets will be floating around Tixel and Ticketmaster next year same as Oasis. I’ll probably wait closer to the time.

3

u/elektramortis 3d ago edited 3d ago

Perth now shows Mon 27th presale starts 2:30pm WAST Edit: Welp, they're gone. Must have been Eastern time. Any chance of a Sunday show?

3

u/lingering_POO 3d ago

Yeah… ~475 for two seated tickets. Yeah.. steep, but i got mine and i couldnt be more excited. Ive been belting out the hits all day!

5

u/nabudi1 1d ago

I fucking hate Ticketmaster. I have no issues with other sites, but have never successfully purchased first round tickets on TM. Today into Waiting Room exactly 15 min before, started queue at 850, "5 results" when I got in (just after 2 seats, FFS), but nothing available to click on- just a greyed out map no matter what I tried, how many times I tried refreshing. It's utter rubbish.

2

u/Spookabear 1d ago

If you didn’t do this already make sure you have a tab open for every show (I did it on my Iphone). I just picked the shortest queue lengths because I figured anything over 1000 I would probably miss out on like I did on Wednesday.

Good luck for Monday, if you do miss out I’m sure there will be heaps of resale tickets closer to the date.

2

u/nobondjokes 1d ago

I had a GA ticket but the app crapped out on payment and I lost it, and then there was nothing left except for a seat at the back on the Monday in Melb which I said fuck it because I'm in Europe right now and it was 2am, so snapped it up. Just happy to get a ticket at this stage.

2

u/mishmashmish 4d ago

P.S. I was ~1600 in the queue and thought it was all sold out other than VIP since that's all it showed on RHS. By the time I figured out you have to click on the map (2-3 mins), GA was sold out.

If you're on the next pre-sale/ general release (assuming separate allocations), don't make the same mistake!

1

u/-D-e-e- 4d ago

Yeah, I got 0 results

2

u/xtoppingsx 4d ago

Brisbane i got in nothing left devastated trying the date for 11th now hopefully get one

2

u/Retro8 4d ago

FYI - Telstra Pre-sale still showing GA tickets for multiple Melbourne dates.

2

u/Fickle-Fact-7310 4d ago

Got Standing A tickets out of sheer luck by being on Telstra presale site when new Brisbane shows dropped. Was 60th in queue. So excited!

2

u/Rawwrrzz 4d ago

Somehow pulled 3 rear standing tickets from the depths in Brisbane about 30 minutes after they went up constantly just searching when it said no longer said unavailable

guess some peoples checkouts ran out

2

u/69-is-my-number 3d ago

Perth just went on sale 15 mins ago. I was 1500 in queue and got two VIP for the Saturday night. Sooooo fucking stoked!!!

2

u/ViolentViceroy 3d ago

Tried for the Adelaide shows, I’m on holiday in Laos at the moment so was using a vpn, think the Ticketmaster site didn’t like that got an error code then the tickets were gone.

2

u/Even_Departure9914 3d ago

Nada.

Hopefully next pre sale 🤞🏻

2

u/Over-Exchange-8757 3d ago

Had no luck with the artist pre-sale but just grabbed 2 using the telsta plus pre sale😊

2

u/mytusks 3d ago edited 3d ago

So I logged on again at 2pm during my lunch break and managed to get a GA ticket for the first Melbourne show!

2

u/tulloch100 3d ago

$233 WTF 👀 I paid $126 to see Arctic Monkeys in 2019 wow how times have changed

2

u/jk409 3d ago

Got nothing. I was hoping to take my 8yo so I was reluctant to buy GA. See how I go on Friday I guess.

2

u/Rinrob7468 3d ago

Sat in queue for the allowed 30 minutes before presale opened hoping to get 2 x tickets for any of the Brisbane shows. Was over 4000 & sold out by the time it came to my turn. I’ve actually NEVER been able to secure tickets through Ticketmaster for any concert. Gutted.

2

u/AdHopeful2854 3d ago

Couldnt snag any local tickets from 1pm for Adelaide. So i tried my luck in perth. Scored two tix in reserve seating section (in the same section just different rows) for the Monday show at about 5pm after work. Making it a 5 day trip and doing some sight seeing! Flights and accom booked.

2

u/TypeA_Virgo 2d ago

2 GA for Brissy… $515

2

u/Fantastic_Key_6645 4d ago

Was number 8000 in the queue for the first Saturday and missed out. Pounced as soon as I saw there were new Melbourne shows announced and got a Wednesday ticket without issue.

2

u/Sweet-Albatross6218 4d ago

$233.00 for GA? lol. Money must have run out from those COVID ads.

1

u/cr3t8r 4d ago

One ticket for first Friday in Melbourne, GA.

1

u/crh66 4d ago

Got 2 seats in A2 for the new Melb date on the 25th Oct... was in the queue for the 29th but was standing room only by the time i got in - too old for standing now 😆

1

u/izza7847 4d ago

Anyone know how much the VIP packages were?

1

u/crh66 4d ago

Just under $600 I think

3

u/izza7847 4d ago

farrrkkk haha my mum needs access to a toilet and a seat so thought we would splurge on VIP but i guess not then

1

u/FreddieToompine73 4d ago

Didn't even try. Knew I'd have no hope in hell

1

u/ScallionAltruistic23 4d ago

I got 8x B1 seats for 22nd of October in Melbourne. I honestly thought there was very little chance of getting anything. All sold out now too.

1

u/chatterchitchat 4d ago

I was 700 in the last Melbourne show queue and managed to get 2x GA tickets. Ridiculous pricing but I really want to see them

1

u/mytusks 4d ago

No luck and I was 2000 in the queue. They had two presale going at once which sucked.

1

u/EmotionalJellyfish31 4d ago edited 4d ago

Got rear standing for the wed show. For the 1st tickets I was 2675 in queue and tickets were gone for the sat show by the time I got there. $184 each which I’m a bit annoyed about for a Aussie band. I was not going to pay music festival prices so just short of that. Some of the prices were stupid. But hats off to them as they have sold out.

1

u/item9isthebeesknees 4d ago

How much did rear standing cost?

1

u/EmotionalJellyfish31 4d ago

$184. The prices were stupid but they sold out so hats off to them

1

u/Prior-Stuff-8888 4d ago

No luck but was probably out of my budget anyway

1

u/Muso-Bub-0612 4d ago

5000+ ahead of me in the Brisbane queue. Got my 3 tickets after around a 20 min wait. Was expecting longer, phew!
Can’t wait! Just under 11 months to go! :D

1

u/Opening-Control-6348 4d ago

Got 8 tickets to the same show, Sat 23rd in Melbourne. Few of the group are big fans and I’m happy to tag along to see a group I’ve never seen

1

u/Childish_Danbino81 4d ago

Missed all 6 Brisbane shows

1

u/PsychologicalMap586 4d ago

Accidentally purchased as part of the Telstra member presale, and I am not a Telstra member. Anyone have any experience with this? Will there be cross checking and cancelled?

4

u/ThatOldGuyWhoDrinks 4d ago

Nah you'll be fine

1

u/starship_kites 4d ago

do you have a link for the telstra presale? (also not a member)

2

u/PsychologicalMap586 4d ago

No I just followed the link with the artist presale and I was somehow allowed to access Telstra too. There seemed to be plenty left in Telstra after artist presale had sold out. Just checked again now and it’s all going to waitlist.

1

u/waffleblossom 3d ago

Just buy a cheap Telstra prepaid SIM and sign up an account so they’ll never know 😉

1

u/PsychologicalMap586 4d ago

Could be a mistake because they’ve missed Friday 3rd, but this could be an indication of another show in Brissy for Thursday 2nd?!

1

u/i_dreddit 4d ago

2 oct in sydney... 1512 ppl ahead.

kinda shit they split by show... miss out on the one you want, likely wont get any

1

u/faaarmer 4d ago

You could join multiple queues in different windows - it said so in the waiting room. I did that (on my phone in the car) and picked the queue with the least in front of me.

1

u/i_dreddit 3d ago

fair enough.. i clicked a link and it opened in my ticketmaster app... all good.. i got in but decided i didnt want to go in the end. too much to sit so far away.

1

u/69-is-my-number 3d ago

I had the Friday on my PC and the Saturday on my phone.

There's a new show on Wednesday 6 Oct

I saw that pop up and was 1613th in the queue at 1pm. We’ll see…

I got pretty much the last seats in the place for this show. I’m very excited. My mate is coming to Melbourne for Radiohead, he was the only person I wanted to see Powderfinger with, so I’m going to Sydney and I’m stoked I was able to get tickets on the preferred date ❤️

Started off about 5000 in the queue, but got two GA tickets for Melbourne so I'm happy. I paid about what I expected, so I'm pretty happy tbh. It is a lot of money, but that's just what you pay for tickets now

Logged in with 806 people ahead of me. Easily got tickets for Sydney

Got two Sydney rear GA tickets on my second queue attempt. First tried the artist presale, got in quickly but took me awhile to figure out how to see other tickets other than VIP, then only VIP left ($500+ no thank you).

So started in a new queue for another night using the Telstra page, back of queue and had to wait longer but was able to get rear GA tickets without issue.

My advice, when you get in select straight away on the smallish blue map (lower left corner) the region you want, have the Telstra Rewards page ready as backup.

Clicked onto the Sydney artist presale about 30 mins before it went live. Was #8 in the queue, got straight through and bought 2 seated tickets for $143 straight away.

Really looking forward to seeing them. Hopefully they get Lachy Doley back for these gigs as well.

Got cairns rear GA at $183 each +BF no worries at all. I’m more surprised the queue system seemed to work for once

I got in very easily for Perth and got a standing ticket for Saturday. Put it on pay in 4 though because i can't do that upfront rn. Ludicrous price, and yet i still paid it so whatever

What were ticket prices like for GA1 and GA2?

3

u/ctwe342 3d ago

The same as others cities. 233 dollars for front and 182 dollars for rear. It seems for Friday night the seats have all sold out first

2 front GAs for my first date preference. I hate that pit has become a markup thing but whatever, I'm happy that I got what I wanted

4 vips and 2 gen admission!

I got through and could find absolutely nothing for Saturday night in perth.

I was on a work call and figured id just amuse myself but clicking the 2 tickets for rear ga over and over again and keep getting rejected expecting not to get through.

About 50+ goes later it went through and I got 2 x GA for about 160 each, which was a pleasant surprise as I'd given up all hope.

Not sure if they released more tickets or other orders timed out.

I got 7 tickets for my family and friends. Could not believe GA tickets were 233. Insane. If I had of had more time to think about it, I probably wouldn't have paid that.

That’s cos it’s going to be a… Belter 😏

I hate that Live Nation makes you pay more for standing closer.

Also I hate that Ticketmaster won’t let me use their app for artist presales. It kept sending me to the Google app browser instead.

EDIT: also let me queue first before picking which date I want to go to. Ticketek does that.

Had my me and a friend trying to get tickets for either Saturday. I had 8500 in front of me in the queue and missed out. Got lucky when they dropped the second lot of shows and was able to get some GA to Monday. We'll have another go on the Friday one for the Saturday again, would really prefer the weekend shows.

Dropped a little over 2k for 4 VIP tickets to the Saturday Brisbane show. It’s a lot of money but hopefully money well spent.

No dice. I joined at 10 on the dot and still missed out. But $230 for general admission standing room is mental. Radiohead was cheaper.

u/vicious-muggle 3d ago

Yep got two for cairns. Very happy.

I'm a massive Powderfinger fan. I got access to buy tickets but fuck paying $240 for a ticket. I would expect that from an overseas band and still wouldn't buy. What a joke.

Tasmania ignored again, thanks

I love Powderfinger, but $233 for GA is getting into international-headliner territory 😂 Concert prices in Australia are officially cooked.

Live Nation presale.. 1500 in cue at 2pm, got front section GA for Sydney Mon public holiday show

1

u/luckysaturn777 1d ago

Probably the most hoops I’ve had to jump through for 2 tickets in GA. $180 each. Not awful I guess. The artist pre sale had no tickets left so I pivoted to Telstra presale and managed to get them that way. I was SWEATING though!

I managed to nab two tickets to the Monday show in Sydney in the front GA area... but I didn't realise it was in a tent. So now I am torn between going and selling thanks to my signicant fear of closed in spaces and packed in crowds.

I saw Domain + Powderfinger, and imagined open air chill vibes, and didn't read the staging info until after the purchase. Which is on me, but damn, it sucks.
