Lodging Beachfront Accommodation Recommendations

We’re staying in Bacalar for a week in January and still deciding where to stay on the Yucatan peninsula for the 2nd week.

We’ve never seen the Caribbean so we’re pretty intent on getting a beachfront room/suite. Tulum is our most likely choice.

Beachfront room is non-negotiable. Optimally with a nice private outdoor lounging area/patio/terrace to lounge in during the day.

We were about to book at Nomade but we were slightly turned off by having to pay the full balance up front, especially after reading about Our Habitas shutting down overnight.

Who’s had good similar experiences where?

Gracias!

I would recommend Mia Tulum or Nueva Vida. Both have gorgeous beaches. Mia is a little newer and busier with a great beach club during the day. Nueva Vida is a little quieter and more private. Both have great staff and facilities and have beach front rooms.

Don’t go to MIA, they are known to have financial issues and your payment would be at risk.

I’ve stayed in Azulik and was a crazy hotel for sure but they’re cheap and try to charge you for everything

January hopefully the sargazo is not around. Don’t worry too much about pre booking Tulum is going through a tricky phase but don’t just drop from your list take advantage of competitive prices and quiet beach ….Delek is reliable

I’ve heard about Tulum but we’re willing to try our luck. No kids for the time being so trying to maximize this before that changes.

We’re staying on a lagoon in Bacalar so we’re really trying to see the ocean. Not big beach swimmers so not sure care about sargasm.

Was there last week and beach was covered with it.

The beach is generally clear in tulum in January. I would not worry about Sargasm.
