As a girl There's something I've experienced an endless number of times, and I genuinely don't understand it.
As a girl, why is it that some of your female friends will suddenly start ignoring you the moment a guy is around? They'll laugh with him, talk to him, and give him all their attention, but when it comes to you, they act completely differently. It's like your presence suddenly doesn't matter anymore.
I'm not talking about a specific situation or just hanging out together. I mean in general, why do some girls change the way they treat you depending on whether there's a guy around? They can be perfectly normal with you, but as soon as a guy appears, you're suddenly the least interesting person in the room.
Sometimes, they'll even leave you alone just to go talk to guys, without making any effort to include you in the conversation. And honestly, what bothers me isn't that they want to talk to guys. They're obviously free to talk to whoever they want. It's the way they completely disregard you in the process, as if you only matter when there's no one else around.
I find it especially weird when they don't even seem to realize they're doing it. Do they genuinely not notice how differently they behave, or do they just not care?
I don't want to make this about jealousy, because that's not the point. I'm talking about basic consideration and the feeling of being treated like an option rather than an actual friend.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Why do some girls do this?
