One minute task

Since the East coast is dealing with Isaias, today our one minute task is going to get together our emergency stuff. Flashlights, batteries, water, etc. We have one drawer that is easy to get to from several pathways in our house for these things to live. This means we can easily get to them in the event of a disaster. Every region has it's natural disaster so prepare for your area.

And if you are in the path of this storm, please evacuate if you are asked to do so. If you aren't, then please stay safe!

Our plan for the day is a grocery run, making sure flashlights are good to go, and getting the house clean in case family needs to come stay with us. We are far enough north of the Gulf that we just need to worry about flooding and tornados. So we are as prepared as you can be.

Charge up your devices and spare power banks as well.

And make sure your car chargers are working. So you can recharge if you need to by driving around town.

Stay safe! Get your laundry done and run your dishwasher in case you lose power.

And be sure and dry it. Eight days with no power and a load in the washer makes for freightening laundry!

My emergency short list for northeast: Charge phones and devices Make sure laundry and dishes are done Car is fueled up Tornadoes/hurricanes: make sure all outdoor stuff is indoors or secured Snowstorm: Make sure shovels/scrapers are on front porch (covered) and snowblower is easy access I need to get an emergency drawer or kit together. We have been lucky not to need one, but better overprepared.

Exactly, I think most of us that live in Tornado or Hurricane alley know what we need to do. Just taking to time to do it is most important.

This is brilliant. I’m in Australia so I’m well out of this storm path but we do have our own emergencies.

Yes and we all need to prepare differently, but we still need to be prepared to take care of our needs for a few days. And the time to think about it is before it hits. Stay safe!
