Still don't understand why Russian orchestrated attacks on the UK PM were not bigger news. Plus the ridiculous rent boy cover up. It was all ridiculous

I suppose there's some valid thinking that being forthright about that would make it appear more successful and incentivise further attempts. I'm of the opinion that a stern and equally violent response would be far more appropriate but I do understand their view.

Can't believe they'd allow this. Chicken nuggets are vile in Romania.

His solicitor was shite, didn't even pull the chicken nugget card! Amateur!

Hasn't anyone considered that his hamster's uncle's 2nd cousin's babysitter would be sad? he has a right to a family life!

So all of a sudden we're perfectly capable of deporting people

It’s done all the time, you just typically don’t hear about it as – as with any news – you only hear about the abnormal situations like “deportation failed” or “really high profile criminal deported”

Well, you can go and look at the actual government stats and see that deportations are not very high - These figures are public domain.

It's not only a case of seeing stuff that makes the front pages.

We deport all foreign national offenders who are are given a custodial sentence of 12 months or more via the UK Borders Act of 2007.

With the Article 8 changes, it will now be even easier to deport foreign offenders.

The information is out there if you go and look.

A lot easier to deport someone who's government are happy to cooperate with you.

This is done regularly in the criminal courts, and even immigration tribunals.

He's Romanian.

We have open diplomatic relations with Romania. It's a safe country

What relations do we have with the Taliban led Afghanistan?

Is sending someone back to Sudan in the midst of a genocide seen by the courts as effectively a death penalty?

Nobody's gonna remark on him doing virtually no time in jail before being deported?

Prisons are overpopulated enough as it is and it's not our duty to house, feed and pay for foreign nationals. Sure they don't get "punished" but the most important part about prison was always about keeping dangerous people and career criminals off our streets.

Good, now more of the same for other criminals!

LMAO of course this one gets deported

Serial rapists, killers, sexual predators? Sorry, they have a right to free everything, nothing we can do

You heard about two tier policing, now it two tier deporting

It's nothing to do with the specific crime, EU countries are just willing to take their citizens back.
