Are there other people in the uk who are children of immigrants who are surprisingly finding themselves become right wing?

• Upvotes

I used to hate the right wing and their ilk growing up, seeing them as closed-minded, judgmental, and completely out of step with the values I was taught. Their rhetoric felt harsh and their priorities seemed selfish. But as the years have gone by and the world has shifted, some of their policies on the economy, immigration, crime, and free speech feel increasingly practical, grounded, and worth taking seriously rather than dismissin outright.

How can we end poverty

The government considers poverty to be

Defined as living in a household with a disposable income below 60% of the contemporary median UK household income.

By that metric if the average person earned 1 billion then someone with 555 mill would be classed as in poverty

So surely whatever we do and no matter how well people live the poverty numbers are always going to be high? 🤷 Even if people live in absolute abundance and luxury

Do you feel like we’re getting conditioned into war?

I’m not a conspiracy theorist but can’t help but feel the last 1-2x years we’ve had gradual normalisation of war here and in Europe too of course.

I mean the video of that army general this week at Catterick saying the British people will need to be prepared for war. The ads, tax rises etc. it alls feels a bit too organised they we’re being gradually socialised to it.
