On-Campus Housing Are there any vacanies?

I'm having some living issues (being vague on purpose), and I'm wondering if there are any vacancies on campus before I contact housing to potentially move out of my current situation.

Sometimes there are, they do see people on a walk in basis. This note is on the bottom of the In-Semester Change tab of this page - https://www.umass.edu/living/your-residential-experience/changing-or-cancelling-housing

Current Students without a Housing Assignment

Current students who do not hold a housing assignment as of opening can walk in to the Residential Life Assignments Office, located in Crampton Hall, to seek an on-campus assignment. Please note that most available vacant spaces will be shared rooms with a roommate.

Oh, and I had another thought, if you are currently living on campus, then you are going to have to document your problems. That may be through reports to your RA and/or RD for your residence. The RD can recommend an urgent room change.
