Sea Frogs replacement part

A pair of months ago I purchased a Sea Frogs housing for my OM TG7. Not knowing what accessories I might need I simply lost the black blocking plate included that is needed for an optic fiber cable. Actually I might even disposed of it.

Tried to acquire a replacement but, surprise, they don't sell it. They obviously never imagined somebody being dumb enough to discard the included materials.

Now I need to contact the manufacturer and beg them to sell me a replacement part with the pair of receptacles.

Their email is only for information not support, can you suggest how to reach trhem about this matter?

Storing gear

I've been diving and doing underwater photography for about a decade now and always just kept my gear in a storage box . But my girlfriend and I both just bought new rigs and still have old components that we want as spares / loaner / a tg rig because its less trouble than the new mirrorless rigs, and im finding I'd like more organization than just one big box of stuff. Also I dont have room for a dedicated desk or work table for it. Has anyone come up with a pack away organization case for random strobes and arms and trays and shoots? Thanks in advance.

Macro shots from Durban, South Africa. The anthias in the first two photos (Pseudanthias connelli) are a rare endemic species only seen on two wrecks in recreational depths. They are found at 50-100m+ deep in most of their range.

I recently bought a Nikonos V and took it with me on a holiday to Egypt. I shot a roll of Portra 400 and a roll of Cinestill 800T. While I’m happy for a first go I’d love to get some tips on how to improve. I shot the 400 stopped down to 200 and the 800T stopped down to 500 just to avoid under exposure.

Still a beginner at this trying to improve my skills haha.
I'd love to hear any thoughts or advice from the more experienced shooters!🫶

Even after practicing on land several times, it was still a bit hectic down there. Looks like I need to get it out more often to build that muscle memory🤣🤣🤣

One of my favorite pics I took back in August during one of the spawns. Just a creek in Alaska!
If you look closely you can see a lure in his mouth.

I found a gravel bed and laid in it still for about an hour waiting for these guys to get comfortable enough with my presence. Nothing like wearing a full black wet suit looking like a black bear face down in a creek surrounded by black bears.

With a 35 mm lens, extension tube, a 3:1 frame (if I recall correctly), and a single Oceanic 2000 strobe. It's been a while! 😄

Divevolk seatouch 4 max plus iphone 18 pro adapter?

I have a Divevolk SeaTouch 4 Max Plus and recently upgraded to an iPhone 18 Pro. I still have the adapter for my old iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 18 Pro seems to fit in it, but the dimensions of the 18 pro is slightly different, so I'd prefer to get the correct adapter to ensure a secure fit and proper sealing.

However, I can't seem to find an adapter specifically for the iPhone 18 Pro. Does anyone know where I can get one, or whether the iPhone 16 Pro adapter is safe to use with the 18 Pro?

Sealife sportdiver help: Vacuum valve body came unscrewed. Has anyone experienced this?

Hey everyone!

I don’t know if this is the right sub to ask this question, but I’ll try.

I’m having an issue with my SeaLife SportDiver underwater housing, and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or knows how to fix it.

Today, after finishing a dive, I tried to release the vacuum from the housing as usual. However, when I attempted to unscrew the vacuum valve cap, instead of just the cap coming off, the entire threaded valve body unscrewed from the housing.
Luckily, nothing appears to be broken. I managed to separate the cap from the valve body using pliers, and both the valve’s threads and the plastic threads inside the housing seem to be intact.
I also noticed what looked like some kind of silicone or sealant on the threads, so I’m wondering if SeaLife uses a specific thread sealant or adhesive to keep the valve body secured in place.

Here’s what I’ve tested so far:
I screwed the valve body back into the housing.
I cleaned and lubricated the O-rings with silicone grease.

I performed the standard vacuum test, and it passed.

I then submerged the housing completely in a sink for over 6 hours, with the vacuum applied, and no alarms were triggered. I’m also leaving it submerged overnight for further testing.

The housing appears to be watertight at surface pressure.

The main issue: If I tighten the valve body normally, it can unscrew again when I try to remove the vacuum cap. I can tighten it much harder, but I don’t want to damage the plastic threads or the O-ring.
I can also open and close the housing without touching the vacuum valve, so technically I could leave it tightened and avoid unscrewing the cap altogether.
However, I’m concerned about whether the valve will remain watertight at 20–30 meters (65–100 feet), since passing a vacuum test at the surface doesn’t necessarily guarantee a proper seal at depth.

My questions are:
Has anyone experienced the entire vacuum valve body coming unscrewed on a SeaLife SportDiver? And if yes, how did you resolved it?

Is there an official repair procedure for this, or does the whole valve assembly need to be replaced?

I’m trying to figure out how to properly secure the valve without damaging the housing or compromising its waterproofing.
I’ll attach a picture showing the threaded valve body and its mounting point.
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First time bringing my housing underwater.

Definitely a big learning curve to learn filming underwater. I had to get used to all the buttons on the housing, but also work on my buoyancy and the drag caused by the housing when diving against current (reallly bad with negative entries).

But learned a lot and had lots of fun! Hope you enjoy

TG-6 shots from Tulamben. Feedback welcome!

Hello everyone! These shots were taken in Tulamben with my TG6+strobe.

I did some editing in Lightroom but tried to keep the photos looking natural. I’d love to hear your feedback on what I could improve!

I’m also considering upgrading to the OM-1 in the next few years. If you’ve made the switch, would you recommend it again, or go full-frame instead? I’d also like to get into wide-angle photography in the future.

Thanks for any tips! 🙏🏼

Question/Advice on Dome Port Care/Preparation

Thumbnail

Hey y'all - somewhat beginner here learning how to prepare and care for my housing + acrylic port! I am running into this issue a bunch and I am not exactly sure how to solve it. My port seems to be dust-free and scratch-free, but every time I take it into the water and direct sunlight hits it - it lights up with (scratch?) artifacts everywhere. Is this an f-stop issue? Is this a cleaning issue or a scratch issue? It doesn't seem to be dust to me because its a white blotch instead of a dark one (like I'd expect dust to be) and is very sunlight shine on it in specific way dependent. I rubbed the acrylic cleaning on according to online tutorials but seems to not have worked. Perhaps I was not aggressive enough.

I have an image that is just simple - shooting away from the sun, and one that is when its shooting more into the sun from the same clip (the majority of the issue are those white splotches on the left side). I know that it is an issue with the port itself as it is static on the image and kind of "flickers" whenever the sun hits it.

Any help from you veterans would be appreciated!!

I guess it it matters - SeaFrogs Housing, FX30, 16-35mm GM
