Postgrad housing for spring semester

Hi everyone, I'm considering starting an on-campus master's in the spring semester as an international student. I'll be working as a research assistant and living off a stipend, so cheap and convenient housing will be a must (so I can focus on the grind). What are the chances I would get a decent place in an on-campus apartment or grad student dorm? And what are the chances of getting a single?
