Ideas Needed! Cam anyone help me upcycled this hand mirror

My cousin gave me this little mirror as a birthday gift and someone ended up shattering kt. For now the pieces are still held together inside but are ratteling. I know it can't be the same as before but is there anything I could do to make it less of an eye sore /cute.

I'd maybe take the mirror out and put a photo in it instead?

Concur - or a painting for ants

Do you wear makeup or paint? These mirrors make fantastic pallets. I'd take the broken glass out, seal the edges with clear nailpolish and just use the metal pan underneath.

Use the glass to make sun catchers. Glue or tie the pieces to fishing string or wire and random beads in between. Hard to describe but I've been making them and it reflects the sun really nice

As someone who also loves sun catchers, please be careful. Depending on what they are made from, and where they are hanging, they can start fires unexpectedly.

Care to elaborate?

My mom used to be a fire fighter and told me about a call she attended where they suspected a sun-catcher was the cause. It’s not a high risk, but there are things you can do when building and placing them to make it safer just in case. I’ll try to send a link to an article I found with some tips. I’m going to send it in a different reply in case it gets deleted for being a link. I just searched up “sun-catcher fire safety” though if it does.

Thank you. Im brainstorming ways to get a solar powered situation going with mine that would give them slight movements

Ooh that sounds really cool! Mine moves a little because of where it sits in relation to my AC, and it’s so beautiful to see the rainbows dance!

Measure it and I bet you can find a replacement either at a craft store or on Amazon

You’re not gonna have glass shards if you rinse it out

Cover the whole mirror in tape so it doesn’t shatter further and use a blow dryer to gently heat it up. Use a cuticle pusher or metal nail file or something similar to gently remove the glass.
Usually they don’t look very pretty underneath but you could paint in a color or use nail polish like someone else said to seal the inside and make it look nice.
You can then add little pans of lipstick or pressed powders into the space. Just glue them in

I have one of these that the mirror cracked. Honestly I just filled in the cracks with glue to stabilize the damage and used the other side. I think I've lost it since

Hmm probably some glue to fill in the cracks and paint something on it or try to remove it and put a picture like a locket or something else in there, the other comments had some makeup ideas.

I’ve taken broken mirrors to get replaced at a glass shop

I cleaned out my old makeup pallets and poured a thin layer of nail polish in there to dry. Then I game them to my kids to use as play makeup

Get a smaller mirror sticker and glue gemstones around it, just make sure it can still close

Pop the old glass out and use the top compartment as a picture frame
