Ideas Needed! Can anyone help with ideas for table made by grandfather?
I inherited this lift top table that was made by my grandfather who passed when I was a baby. I'd love to keep it but am struggling to think of upcycle ideas. Its approx 43cm squared, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
=EDIT= Thanks for all the comments, I've decided to sand it back to its original wood and keep it as a table. If the legs etc arent good wood like the top then I will leave the top natural and paint the lower half. Now Im off to buy a new electric sander :)

Does it have a dark varnish? If it does, you could remove it and restore it to its original wood finish. Or paint it, or just clean and polish it. It would make a good side table next to a sofa, or a bed. Or even as a plant stand near a window.

Don’t paint it! 😊

It's just a suggestion of a possibility! It's not mine to make that decision.

I'd just clean and polish it and use it as a coffee table if I owned it. It has a nice charm on its own.
