Travel Inquiry Fall colors
I am a Michigander that’s moving back home from Wyoming this coming week and I’m wondering if the fall colors are still out and active or if I should just take the route through Chicago?!?
I have been to and through the UP multiple times but I have never seen it in color, and if it’s till rocking I do not want to miss the opportunity

You might find a few spots that still have some color near St Ignace and the eastern shores, but colors in the rest of the UP are already done.

Always avoid Chicago no matter what. I live in Appleton wisconsin, and any time we go to Detroit to visit family we always take the northern route.

It's still beautiful. Eastern end of the U.P. turns later, so you might see a better show of colors there

Still gorgeous in many places, including Marquette and closer to Lake Michigan. Photo taken on Silver Creek Rd in Marquette Friday evening. https://imgur.com/a/8AOe5kF

the UP is done, it's really nice by Big Rapids. But that can change quickly.

Drove from Black River Harbor Campground to Grand Marais today.
🍂 all gone. In case if you are wondering. The Pure Michigan 🍂 report isn't valid. Photo for attention. Sunset in Grand Marais, UP MI
Back to hunting for more Yooperlites, playing 🥏⛳️ tomorrow at Lake Superior 🥏⛳️ course and another K-9 hike to Au Sable lighthouse.
Monday on to Whitefish Point via scenic route. Taking advantage of the mild weather and open business while they stay open. ✌️

Guy down the road from us (M28) has got some kind of hut set up where he apparently sells those 'Yooperlites'. Never been there. But we see he's got some people stopping in there, somedays, during the Summer.

We’re past peak color now. You missed it by a couple weeks.
