TIGER: Brand New VCV Synth Modules

Hi everyone, I'm building some VCV Modular Synth modules for VCV.

They are NOT for sale yet but just wanted the communities opinion before release.

I have made 47 modules along with another 10 in production, including a custom AI neural network range of melody, bass, and drum modules (AI not listed yet).

I have popped them on my website if you guys want a sneak preview. It would be great if I get some feedback and also some advice if I have missed anything. If you have any cool ideas of what type of module you would like that would also be useful.

I have made a Theremin type module that uses your hand position via your webcam.

This is a side project for me so is not my full time role. I will be making some free and some £2.99 to £4.99 depending on the complexity and the time it took me to make them.

Do you think that is that a fair price point? I am new to this but having a lot of fun.

Any feedback is important even if it is bad. I'm a coder not a synth head so may be missing blatantly obvious things. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

I'd have to have some idea that there was something there not already offered for free beyond a nice website.

Weirdly, the thing missing is any idea of what any of them sound like. Not a single sound to be heard.

That's a great point! I will record some sound examples and add them. I will also add the manuals for each one too. Thank you for that, most appreciated and solid advice.

I can also send you three if you want to select them and you can keep them. Just to give me some feedback or advice.

Ive added examples of sounds for you and a section at the top called sounds which has some super short tracks on it. I am not the best musician but tried.

For the record, its not AI, i build everything in Python first and used an AI to convert it to C as I don't code in C and couldn't be bothered to manually used PyInstaller. Although AI did help me with the concepts and it helped me understand the math behind it more. Not much cognitive offloading here. I tell a lie, I usedAI to put my manuals together and build my webpage and some marketing (I'm not that skilled in marketing). The images are screenshots of the actual tool images used for the GUI.

I put them up on a webpage just to get some ideas, one guy suggested audio which I've done, another suggested manuals which I've done and an I'd disclosure I also a very good idea so I'll get that up too. If you want to try a few out pick three, message me in the website and I'll send them over for you to play with  Like I say this is all new to me. They may not be useful enough.

Seems a fair price, I'm in the UK and that's not even a pint, which is one way to look at it. I'm not averse to buying modules either, although a lot of the community seem to want to use only free stuff - I guess that makes it easier to share patches etc. I would want to hear some sounds first before I could say if I'm interested in these, there are over 4000 modules in the library now, so for me it's a question of 'does this make a noise I can't make with anything else?'. Also, the names are cool but there's already a sequencer called Proteus and a whole collection called Venom - not sure if that's an issue.

How about select 3 and I will send you them, to try? I would recommend the Abduction one. You can keep them.

Great advice tho thanks. I have tried a hand tracking one, which works OK, the tech side I have nailed down, usefulness i dabble but I'm by no means a pro with the music.

It’s not just that no one wants to pay for modules, but VCV has had in the past developers who put out premium modules and then disappear, VCVs been around for a while now and this has happened several times

Right, well I have no intention of disappearing, I have the plan of making some of them physical. Ive had a vast amount of fun and headaches from these modules. lol If you want a couple free, let me know and ill let you pick three and send them to you to try.

I wasn’t trying to imply anything about you, and I’m not even really complaining, I love VCV and all the developers that have put work toward making it so great, and I appreciate yours or anyone’s efforts to make interesting modules that do things you can’t find elsewhere

Sorry, forgot to reply earlier! But thanks, happy to test some of these for you. I'll go for Apex, Abduction and Refraction. Hope they sound as good as they look! Fracture looks interesting too, I think that's also the name of a VST plugin by Glitch Machines :)
