NUTRITION DHA supplements
Hey, has anyone else tried garden of life kids plant omega-3 liquid supplement? I have a six and an eight year-old, and while they take a daily multivitamin, I’d like to start sneaking some DHA into their daily “healthy shakes”. I put lots of things in that shake, including flaxseed and or Chia seeds, but I’m a little worried about DHA.
Does anyone have experience with this brand, or thoughts on this plan?
Thanks so much,
-Mitch

You might want to try it in a smoothie yourself first. I've never tried it but since it's from algae it might give a weird flavor and you'll want to figure out how to mask it before their first experience with it. With the coconut in it you might want to try tropical fruits for a better flavor harmony.

We use vegetology kids one which is in liquid form and has an orange flavour. I mix it into their yogurt and they don’t notice it

Garden of life omega 3 doesn't have DHA in it. It's basically just flax oil. You need a DHA supplement from algae oil. I get Norsan's and it's a liquid with a dropper. The liquid itself isn't really yummy or anything, And the aftertaste is kind of gross, so I have a second dropper bottle full of juice and it give one dropper of the DHA and then one dropper of the juice as a sort of "chaser." Both my 5yo and 1yo are fine with taking it. DHA is important imo

What worries you about DHA?
We use Nordic Naturals. Seems fine
