It's crazy how people say stuff without doing basic research. For example I took about 10 seconds to look up AC Shadows and it was on sale for $25 about 3 months ago which is more than 50%. Still not $10...so you're both wrong.
No it’s not. One of the worst stories I’ve ever sat through. Very pretty and decent gameplay, in particular I really enjoyed Naoe stealth. It’s a 6/10 game at best.
For me, story was ok, graphics incredible, gameplay for naoe 10/10, yasuke 7/10. I rate it 8 overall, i just think story and mission layout lets it down massively
I just started playing Lords of the Realm 1 & 2 last year and the first game is 32 this year the second will be 30 this year. Both are some of my favorite games of all time now lol
Exactly! if the game is good at launch with no performance drops I don’t mind supporting the developers. We bitch a lot when games are heavily monetized but even when they release good ones we are like “naah, fuck it. I’ll buy it for 6 bucks in 7 years”
Black Flag love led to Odyssey love! The ship combat wasn’t exactly the same, but I still very much enjoy battling 5 ships at a time, sometimes even going on lavish killing sprees to get a high bounty, then taking to the sea to fight the mercenaries on the waves
I think I’ve played most of them, and usually enjoy them very much. Odyssey is easily my favorite, Valhalla has been fun, but i have yet to finish it. Black Flag was amazing. One was different from what followed, but it holds a special place in my memories, a strong nostalgic vibe. Really wanted to dive into Syndicate, but never gave it an honest attempt. Feel like Mirage could have been fun, even had it downloaded and started playing, but something else grabbed my attention and i had to delete it for space. IMO, the AC games have pretty good replayability
played odyssey years ago and i enjoyed it a lot. but my pc couldn't run it well, and i got burnt out before I finished it because I was trying to be a completionist and it got a bit repetitive..
but I still randomly think about that game years later, it had a really nice atmosphere and great gameplay. I should go back and play it again sometime (without the repetitive side quests) on my new pc
If it didn’t take up so much space, I’d always have it on my box. Currently, I still have Valhalla that I need to finish, plays very much similar to Odyssey (came out shortly after I think) and is also a lot of fun
For sure! Which is probably why Odyssey is my GOAT among them, it plays more like a demigod simulator/Ancient Greek explorer imo and some of the views really make me want to check out Greece someday
I like how all these people are bearing their souls about their favorite AC games to you after you were like “yeah I barely want to play the one we are talking about here and that’s the only one I have any interest in”
just an example but back when GTA V was brand new I remember talking with classmates about how it was the best looking game of all time and was super realistic. Looking back now, its still pretty stylized.
Do these people think art direction is non existent in live action films?
How could someone look at Hellblade 2 and think, no wet direction.
If there were no set direction in this game every tree would not match, the buildings would not make sense placed next to each other. Shops would store incorrect goods.
I aware some of the stupidest takes are upvoted for no reason.
I understand, and I hold that sentiment too. But it is deeper than that. The Last of Us still has art direction, if it were truly just pure realism, it would look boring.
It's the only one I was ever interested in as well, and I did, in fact, finish it. An amazing experience that I hope they don't completely ruin with this re-release.
Tbf, it’s barely an AC game and much more of a pirate simulator.
It felt like they’d been developing a pirate game and just decided “Ya know what? We only have the world and the gameplay, no narrative yet. Just tack on a AC narrative for brand recognition and let’s ship this bad boy!”
That's my impression as well. I still need to watch the full trailer, but the clips and screenshots I've seen have much of the same feel as the game. It's definitely one of my favorites in the series. I'm not sure I'll get the remake right away but I'm definitely excited for it.
Black Flag isn’t even really an assassins creed game tbh. It’s a well made pirate game that feel like it was made to be assassins creed. It doesn’t feel the same as releases before or after it.
they became really formulaic but the ezio trilogy (assassins creed 2, brotherhood, and revelations) was a legit great piece of storytelling about a bratty teenager becoming a renaissance ninja master teacher. i would still recommend it to anyone who’s interested in a good story in a video game.

Damn that's actually, a great remake. Looks super faithful to the original art direction, which helps the original still hold up today.
Black Flag was the only assassin's creed game I've ever been actually interested in, I might buy this on sale.
Edit: to be clear, interested doesn't mean played. I played it for like 5 minutes at a friend's house like 7 years ago.
