Sadly its Halo for me :/ its not looking good, campaign evolved looks cool and Im gonna play it but Ive just lost faith in microsoft and really any of the big gaming companies. Indie games have been the only games where I see any heart anymore. Support the little guys, they're doing some amazing work out there.

I came here to say Halo is dangerously close. The reason I know this... is I just don't care about the current narrative arc. Chief and Joyeuse... potentially fighting the Endless?

I'm really struggling to give a damn about that. I think the idea of the Endless is creatively bankrupt. Yet ANOTHER previously unknown alien race that presents an existential threat. Holy shit how many times are we going to dip into that well? Covenant, Flood, Forerunners, Banished and now the Endless.

I should note... Offensive Bias has been floated. I really wanted that character to show up since 4... so there is a sliver of interest. I'm just worried they'll drop the ball with it.

I feel like Halo would really benefit moving away from Chief for a while, I get he’s “Mr Halo” but he feels like a shackle these days holding the entire series back from evolving.

I feel like this is an issue that is common in gaming lately with too many series being shackled to their past and being scared to evolve.

The again I admit I’m a person who never found Chief that interesting with him being my 5th favorite Spartan II, and Halo Wars 1 and Reach have been my top two Halo’s forever. So my view is definitely biased.

Honestly not enough series do spin-offs anymore.

The universe during the Covenant war was so rich. It's not bad post either as you could interact with way more aliens...

But the point I'm getting to is a Halo RPG that builds up an entirely new cast. Or any other genre... space fighter game. So that you enrich the universe with more. So you don't have to rely on Chief... and should any of these folks show up for major events it'll be that much more hype.

Like how folks wanted Spirit of Fire to appear.

Nope, I dont remeber any tv show. I remeber scifi show with with a green guy who couldnt keep his helmet on though.

Yeah I wanted to play the new halo on PlayStation. Hell I’m considering not getting final fantasy 7 revelations on PlayStation at this point. Fuck Sony

I feel your pain brother, Im still gonna play it through with my old man and my sister just because of the cross play. But sony and xbox and even nintendo have all fallen. Nintendo is still my goat because they actually put out some great first party games but each one of these companies is a shell of what they used to be. Really wish I could go back to the early 2000s and re live what I see as the golden era of gaming.
