Image / Video Two minute apart from each other

Post image

This is just wild. PlayStation wanted to end their partnership with Hideo Kojima. So Xbox was like: "Your loss."

This year is really starting to feel like an inverse of 2014 when Xbox ruined their public image with some insane Always Online DRM requirements and PlayStation capitalized on that.

And don't forget that terrible State Of Play the other day.

What does a bunch of 3rd party game reveals have to do with Sony?

Sony holds a special presentation just to announce a bunch of 3rd party games that have nothing to do with Sony?

u/TheCutieCircle Sep 10 '26

Yeah that's I'm saying. It has nothing to do with anything. blaming a bad state of play is quite baffling. It's not like they made all those games.

Sony's state of play does have something to do with Sony

Okay but having a bad state of play isn't quite the "Oh so that's why they suck lately." It's just a showcase of upcoming games. That's like blaming the weatherman because it's raining outside.

But if Sony has no games, it has absolutely something to do with everything. Even if they did have something, Sony’s bread and butter have been those 3rd person QuickTime AAA releases, and the criticism for those formulaic games is growing. Just wait until Wolverine releases

If Sony has no games then why is the PS5 Pro sold out ? For a company that has no games that sure is a lot of people buying the same console.

To answer that literal question, Sony has little to do, in this moment, with PS5 Pros selling out. My understanding is it has everything to do with GTA VI’s impending release. Those might as well be labeled GTA VI Pros

An iq too low ?

Yes? No? Maybe? I don't know. Can you repeat the question?

You just shifted the goalpost. No one is saying that Sony has no games at all. They're saying the state of play had no Sony games. I didn't even watch or know what state of play is but I think I got the context.

Sorry it's hard to read every single message back to back. You're right there is no sony first party games. I thought the other guy was just doing the "Sony has no games" Meme.

There were a bunch of Japanese games there tho like Fate/Extra Remake, Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance, Gundam Rogue Orbit, 2 Final Fantasy Games, Rhapsody in Scarlet

  1. Because they like to promote upcoming games.

  2. Those were new games. Just because you didn't like them didn't mean they were all bad. I don't care about mondte hunter but that franchise makes millions of dollars.

  3. PlayStation has liquidated their Japanese studio a long time ago.

You mean Wolverine, Laufey, Until Dawn 2, and intergalactic(targeting next year). I’m sure they are doing fine in terms of games lol. Nintendo had a bad showcase 2 months ago but u weren’t there now were u??

So u just watched the Japanese sop blindly?

3

u/beaglemaster Sep 10 '26

Nintendo has like 6 showcases a year

3

u/Zalvren Sep 10 '26

Sony has 3 State of Plays, sometimes even a showcase and they come to Geoff's events (far more than Nintendo)

2

u/SatyrAngel Sep 10 '26

And like 5 first party per year.(at least)

u/Worldly-Ad3447 Sep 10 '26

I love how I get downvoted when I answer the guys question, he asked for where are the new games and I mention them.

2

u/seiryu1982 Sep 10 '26

It precisely reveals that Sony doesn't have anything interesting to show from its first party studios in an event called "State of Play".

-1

u/Mr_Turntable Sep 10 '26

That’s why is was a bad state of play IMO. It was all 3rd party games and very little about Sony. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I dont think there was a new first party game announcement

2

u/TheCutieCircle Sep 10 '26

There wasn't, I agree with you. I'm just saying a bad state of play has nothing to do with why Sony sucks. They organized it and the 3rd party devs wanted to promote their games on PlayStation. That's it. Just because Sony is being a shitty company doesn't automatically mean the showcase has anything to do with their business practices.

u/pigeon-check Sep 10 '26

That's nothing new

-1

u/UtkuOfficial Sep 10 '26

That was so disappointing.
