Image / Video Two minute apart from each other

Post image

This is just wild. PlayStation wanted to end their partnership with Hideo Kojima. So Xbox was like: "Your loss."

This year is really starting to feel like an inverse of 2014 when Xbox ruined their public image with some insane Always Online DRM requirements and PlayStation capitalized on that.

Err, you think the people who trashed kojima nearly 7 years ago are going to be the same people looking forward to his game now, it's a big sub Reddit with a lot of people, plenty of room for both haters and enjoyers of his games

I think the people I'm talking about are going to be people who hypocritically flip flop and pretend to like / dislike whatever suits their disingenuous narratives.

Right so you specifically said you guys and also referring to comments from 7 years ago, why would you assume there here now? There probably off pretending they don't care about the OoT remake being switch exclusive or something

No, I specifically said "a lot of you guys" referring to who I'm talking about. The same reason they were around to flip flop on Death Stranding once it came to their preferred platforms is the same reason they will still be around to flip flop now.

Lol ok mate, seems pretty obvious though that the people excited for this are probably not the ones trashing Kojima years ago, in fact go have a look at the playstation subreddit, seen plenty of comments calling him a hack and stuff now so seems like it's more the people who had played death stranding now turning on him

So you believe the latter exists but not the former. That's a convenient perspective to hold.

No I'm saying in this particular comment section that there probably not the same people who trashed kojima over 7 years ago, you didnt just say it generally that some people will be flip flopping, you specifically replied to a person here to say "Didnt a lot of you guys trash Death stranding". As I said in the first comment, this is a big general subreddit and there's gonna be haters of all kinds, but to specifically reply to a person and say we are all flip flopping is weird, go to a comment section where people are actually doing that maybe.

So the people I'm talking about don't exist and there's no chance that anyone currently using this for "Sony bad" purposes has any overlap with disingenuous platform warriors who've previously flip flopped on Kojima whenever it's narratively convenient to do so.

Interesting.

What is it about pointing out this particular vein of hypocrisy that bothers you so much?

Maybe because you came in and replied to someone about stuff that happened 7 years ago lol to a random person, tell me is SterileProphet, the guy you actually replied to, one of these people who trashed it or just a complete guess on your part?

It's just weird that instead of going to any of the other comments sections on this you chose the one where people are seemingly mostly happy, I'm sure on an Xbox subreddit you'd find plenty of hypocrites, but is anyone here a hypocrite that you know off?

Platform war hypocrisy is a continuum. It didn't start and stop 7 years ago.

You're currently being a hypocrite by acknowledging one group of hypocrites while denying the existence of the other. Whatever you were reading elsewhere, you presumably didn't trawl through 7 years of post history to verify your suspicions, but made the assertion anyway.

Your premise also states that this is the thread where people are "most happy" yet there is nothing about SterileProphet's post that exhibits happiness of any kind. It can only be construed as either pointed disappointment or schadenfreude.

You're exhibiting a very insistent form of double think here. So I think it's more likely you're just defending against the notion that anybody could be a hypocrite about this particular subject in this direction. You just don't want it to be known.
