I have never understood why anyone likes game play like this. Just the most boring and uninteresting way to have combat.

Aside from that one silly game they made that is 100% QuickTime events, it’s not really meant to be a gameplay mechanic, it’s more like a cinematic mechanic that keeps you more locked in/invested during non-gameplay moments.

The gameplay parts of this game are also locked on a literal thread through the levels that is visible all the time you have to follow.

So QTEs become Verification cans?

Maybe if the cinematic was compelling, I wouldn't need irrelevant button presses to stay invested.

Yea 2 examples for me was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Metaphor: ReFantazio, watched all scenes and never felt the need to try and skip them.

and for a older one Alan Wake game just got me actually invested in the story.

Like when I think I have a moment to take a sip of my drink?

I don't think people do. It's just that there have been enough otherwise great games that have QTEs that studios assume people like them.

I mean, disabled people with mobility issues who still want to be able to enjoy a story play through? Try looking past your own nose.

There is an accessibility option that avoids them entirely. This for able-bodied people and it still does this.

Then have it be an accessibility toggle and not automatic? Try looking past your own ego

The argument you're making is that games should play themselves because what if a person with a disability could struggle? Why not just save your $70 and watch someone else play at this point?

What a dumb way to say it, gratz

Make it an accessibility option. Autocompleting QTEs shouldn't be the default. Or just don't do QTEs in the first place. Problem solved.
