He's crying because now that he's married he'll barely get any use out of that 5090

Brutal irony.

As much as I love video games and don’t believe in marriage. I think this is pathetic. He’s getting married to his bride and he sheds a tear for a damn gaming card. I bet this loser got through his vowes without a hiccup. This is a dude who haven’t got his priorities straight and it makes me look down on hardcore gamers

Harsh, but honestly I had similar thoughts when seeing this. It's a video card, how the hell is that more of an emotional hit than your wedding that's currently in progress?

As a PC gamer myself, yeah, this guy hasn't grown up at all. Gift me a 5090, and I'd sell it to make a nice house payment on the principal or put it in escrow.

While this guy obviously has his priorities out of whack, there’s nothing juvenile about gaming. It’s a hobby like any other, and your characterization of it as something that only kids do feels really misplaced.

I don't think that is what Loner was implying. You don't need a 5090 to game. Is it an upgrade? Sure, is it worth the money? No. It would be much better to sell it, put a few thousand towards a house, car, or other bills and just buy a solid GPU for a few hundred.
It's not the gaming he was saying is immature, it's the reaction to a GPU, and by contrast from the short view we have, the lack of reaction to the wedding which anyone should see as more important.

Kinda pathetic. When technology makes you cry and say “life? Marriage? Who F’n cares?” Ridiculous
All 5090 fans are going to downvote probably but doesn’t change how pathetic this is.

man, i also hate life, i just dont go around putting others down because of it. the only thing pathetic is that thought coming out of your brain and reaching this comment thread, if you cant say anything nice or productive please just be quiet.

You gotta realize what’s important in life. Bawling over tech that will be obsolete in 1-2 years is pathetic.
There’s a lot in this world to cry about. And I’m not just talking about death, disease, cancer and children dying. Crying with joy over your first born child, marrying the love of your life, winning the lottery and buying your family or your parents their first house.
Reddit is open to opinions as long as you’re not violent, racist or degrading of others with overly abusive language. Thats just how it is.

Who are you to say what someone should enjoy in their life? Get over yourself.

u/RadishCandid6062 2h ago
NOPE. Still a P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C man-child

I’m not crying and being a little b*tch over it. Don’t get insulted though. I don’t see you crying yet.

He's crying because he's entering a sacred and legal binding with someone who understands his needs, is good feeling

You don’t know this guy’s story. My friends and I pooled together our cash to get my Navy buddy in Alaska a PC setup. The last several years we’ve been able to game with him regularly and it has been incredible. It feels like he never left. Technology can bring people together. This is probably a mix of emotions for the wedding and the gift. I think it’s amazing to see and hope this guy has all the happiness in the world.

Damn. I was building PCs back in the day and these prices are insane relative to that.

What the actual fuck I thought that was a joke, last time I checked about 10 months ago they were like 3-4k. Now I even see them at 9k. Meanwhile the 5080 is still at the (already outrageous) 2k

A high end expensive graphic card for a computer.

u/WanderingGoodNews 1d ago
Or data center
4
u/pichael289 1d ago
They use a different kind of ram, part of the whole "shortage" has to do with producers leaning more towards that kind of ram.
1
u/MeatSafeMurderer 23h ago
Yeah. HBM. Thing is, the 5090 is basically a data center card at this point regardless. Nobody else was buying them for $7000.

What’s he crying’ for? Is the 5090 no good or something?
2
u/Test88Heavy 1d ago
They are extremely expensive video cards. Price went up like 500% due to AI data center demand.

Why would you be so cruel to your friend? Now that he’s married, he’ll only be allowed to game while the wife is sleeping.

Fuck this guy. Why do we care? He’s not lining my pockets with a 5090 and some coochie.
0
u/Desperate_Bathroom21 18h ago
His family and friends probably don’t know anything about 5090, so they’ll probably just be staring at him in bewilderment.

u/Scallion-Sudden 8h ago
Man got married to a 5090 wife was just a bonus for cooking food and delivery drinks while gaming 😂🤣
