if nothing else, you made me feel better. My possition is crushed and I got a margin call that I was able to cover by emptying my savings. All I have now are shares and prayers.

Ere bro that don't sound good, if your a broke you shouldn't be covering margin calls you should be closing positions

It's cool, I have income. I'll eat ramen for a few months. Better than fire selling my portfolio.

Yeah but the same fundamentals that got you into margin call are still happening. So you are quite likely fire selling your remaining wealth. Maybe youll get lucky, but probably not. Especially if you do this more than once, its basically a coin flip.

I guess that depends on what you believe. We will find out what the actual fundamentals are during earning season. Seems like every earnings cycle we get a massive FUD wave before earnings, I think we are currently at max fear levels and it's almost never a good idea to sell in that climate. I'm feeling more uneasy than ever have but selling has its own negatives, you lock in a big loss and when you FOMO you take wash sale hits. So it might be a coin flip but my bet is that the flip is weighted in my favor and I'm willing to wait awhile if I have to

Everything you say is correct, except you have leverage. Those are non levered words.
