Could you give us an idea of how you earned that money in the first place? If it was from difficult low wage work like food service or stuffing boxes in an Amazon fc that would add to our enjoyment of the post. Thanks in advance!

Well I lost over 15k euro and I work for 1k euro a month shifts jobs including heavy manual labour . I have to spend the next 3 years working for free basicly and live with parents since I can save less than 500 a month.
If I could have won them and scaled I could have made the deposit for a home .

I don't think so. I'm gonna save and invest lump in January into VWCE and do monthly contributions for the next 5 years. I wanna forget this part of my life for now. I actually lost 15k trading alone and over 25k gambling blackjack and soccer mostly.

It's pretty difficult to get good jobs right now in that space. Lot of H1Bs and extreme competition.
But yeah, I'm in a decent position to get decent money again whenever I recover my mental state.
Unfortunately the job I have now, I'm very-very highly likely to lose because my mental state broke. I'm a one man army programmer, and I can't do work like that when my mind is shattered.

Cifr, Mara. (some others, but these were the majority) 2.5x leverage in regular stock with 7% covered calls. lost majority then did final options today as a hell mary for calls once I lost 35k and had 5k left.

You might've just coined the term "Hell Mary" to describe a Hail Mary play that misses and goes down in flames. If nothing else, I actually think that will catch on, especially with football season going on. As for the rest, don't despair.
I'm not saying ignore what happened, what you learned from it, or how it feels. It's a big loss and it's gonna hit. But you can't let it consume you. Accept it. Learn from it. Move on. There is a whole future of ups and downs ahead outside the casino and who knows what opportunities could come along in the next 15 years. Remember, we bleed red just like our portfolios, and enough blood has been shed today. Move forward. Crawl, walk, run. Who knows what you'll find along the way.

Good vibes, dude. It’s always darkest before the dawn. You got this.
Honestly, day to day, this sucks. It’s a giant headache. A good job that isn’t too stressful that gives problems to solve is a much better life.
You’ll be happier in the long run. Just remember to keep moving forward every day from here. There’s that old story of the man who was eaten by the snake, and how he got out was to take a big bite of the snake’s stomach every day. It’s just one day at a time.

You literally went all in on the crappiest stocks to exist? If you wanted datacenters, why not just nvda, amd? Why did you do this to yourself?

u/No_Pressure5505 1d ago
I did it when it was in the 14-15 range. I didn't expect it to go down to 9.50.
Had covered calls so I thought it was enough protection to not losing practically everything.

I don't understand how people gamble so much on options...if you can't control yourself keep a gambling account separate like I do....and inverse yourself next time! Also, never go full regard...I've had my fair share or wins and losses with options, but I only use like 2% or 3% of my account value at the most. Good luck on the recovery. See you next pay check!
12
u/No_Pressure5505 1d ago
I'm not sure what the misconception is here. However I did not lose majority it on buying options. I lost it on 3 weeks of datacenter stocks going down.
I sold options to lessen my downfall, but that's extremely different than buying.

People who don't set a stop loss. Why? Seriously! I get it if your position is negligible, but OP here went all in, with leverage, without any safety net. Why!?
14
u/insertnamehere----- 19h ago
Every time I have used a stop loss it has activated at the bottom of a dip at open and the stock made a full recovery just a few weeks later.
Maybe if I was leveraged to the tits with options they would be more useful. But with stocks they always just seem to delete my money. And the times a stop loss has “helped” me it would just save me by selling around 3% from the bottom of a stock that stagnated low.

u/TheNOLAJohnson 6h ago
Same the stop has screwed me every single time I stop paying attention, almost like the computers are doing it on purpose…..

Stay. It'll be too sad to end your story like this. In 5, 10, 15 years you don't know how drastically different your life can look. You can wake up next to someone who loves you and thinks the world of you. Filled with inside jokes and precious moments only you two share. Maybe you two can chuckle looking back at this compared to how great your life is then. And you'll get there because you never stopped believing that sun always rises after it sets.
