Traveller's question Is this normal at Caffè Nero in Warsaw? 💀

So I was waiting in line to get a coffee at the Caffè Nero on Krakowskie Przedmieście.

While waiting, I noticed some oranges sitting next to the juicer, and one of them looked REALLY moldy. Like, covered in white stuff.

I pointed it out to the guy working there, and he just said, "My colleague will figure it out.”
I thought he was gonna throw them away or at least check them.

NOPE.

Bro literally grabbed oranges from the same basket and started making fresh orange juice 😭

I just stood there watching like… what the hell?
I know not every white spot on an orange is necessarily mold, but come on, at least check the fruit before making someone’s drink??

I was just there for a coffee, but after seeing that, I didn’t even feel like ordering anymore.
Am I overreacting or is this actually disgusting?

Traveller's question Best day of the week to visit?

Hi, I'm aware this question might be silly, but I have a bit of a tight schedule since I'm working, so I'm thinking of squeezing two days for a solo trip to Warsaw in November.

Most likely I'll be free to go on Sunday to Monday, which I realize Monday generally isn't the best day considering a lot of museums are closed. Some of the things I really wanna see are the National Museum (the one with paintings), and basically all of the residencies like Wilanow, Lazienki, Royal Castle (apparently they're doing a "free November" thing which is amazing). I'm aware that the Royal Castle and the National Museum are closed on Monday, so I'm fine with doing them on Sunday. However, are there any other important sights that might be closed on Monday? Is it generally a do-nothing day if you go as a tourist? I've made too many a mistake visiting places on holidays or days where they're not open, so I'm trying not to repeat that. There's also potentially the option to do Saturday and Sunday instead so I'm thinking if that's better.

P.S. I'm aware that November 11th and November the 1st are holidays so I'd prefer to skip these.

Thanks in advance!

Traveller's question Nontouristy things or special events for a Tues and Weds layover?

Hi,

Visiting Poland for the first time and will be in Warsaw from Tues night until Thurs morning. Is there anything unique or fun happening midweek that's worth checking out? Anything cool I saw was either the week before or the week after. (I'm into art, architecture, live music especially - Anything quirky or special for the city.) I'm from NYC so happy to walk around and not put off by some grunge and I eat and drink everything.

Oct 20-22.

Thaaaanks!

Traveller's question Watching the latest Aardman movie in English

Hi all, I’ll be in Warsaw next week travelling with a kid, and we’d love to go and see the Shaun the Sheep Halloween movie (The Beast of Mossy Bottom). Since we, sadly, don’t speak Polish: Could someone suggest a cinema in Warsaw where we might have a chance to see it in English with Polish subtitles? Any pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Life in Warsaw question House Clubs for Halloween Night

Hi guys,

Me and my friends are coming to Warsaw. We are all aged 22-23 years old. We are struggling to find good clubs for Halloween Night (31st october). Our main genre is House, Tech House at maximum and possibly no drugs around... We found the club Moon, but it seems we could only buy tickets the same night.

Any alternatives??

Life in Warsaw question Why are people protesting in front of the Supreme Court?

Post image
0 Upvotes

This has been going on for weeks now. There are tents, flags and all sorts of things. During the day, patriotic-sounding music blasts from the speakers on a loop. Sometimes people give speeches; other times it sounds like a Mass is being celebrated, or as though people are reciting the rosary or praying. Occasionally, there are people singing or reciting poetry. It is constant, and it is not getting smaller, just bigger. What’s going on? When is it going to end?

Traveller's question Guys' Trip in Warsaw – Christmas Holidays

Hello! My friends and I (all in our early 20s) are considering a vacation trip in Warsaw from the 26th – 30th of December.

Is there any advice that you'd give us? Anything related to fun activities, food, nightlife, any sightseeing and museums, aswell as how the weather is (if it snows during that time) etc? Anything we should be careful for? Thanks in advance!

(Also, we are from Greece, in case this affects anything)

Traveller's question Polish cuisine reccomedations?

Heyy, I will be visiting Warsaw with a foreigner. I'm from Gdańsk, and don't know any good spots in Waw.

We have to go eat some polish food, any recommendations?

Maybe no pierogi places and no milk bars (except if there's something really exceptional) and no overpriced restaurants, just some good old polish cuisine 😁

Help needed HardRock Café

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I hope I’m not breaking any rules by asking this question / making this request. :)

A few weeks ago, my little sister visited Warsaw as part of a student exchange program. While she was there, she used her pocket money to buy a pin from the Hard Rock Cafe and proudly attached it to her bag.

Unfortunately, her bag was stolen on her way back to Germany. She is absolutely heartbroken and is still really upset about losing that pin. That’s why I wanted to ask if anyone in this community might be able to get the same pin and send it to Germany.
Of course, I would happily cover all the costs!!

Thank you so much, and warm greetings from Germany! :)

Life in Warsaw question Ping Pong in Warsaw

My friend and I are looking for a place to play ping pong / table tennis here in Warsaw. It's become too windy for the outdoor tables in parks. Every place we've found is specifically for training and far more official than we'd like. Simply want to go somewhere where we can play recreationally – any bars, gyms, facilities, etc that might have?
